  • Conjuring Up Phillip
    Jan 28 2025

"The Phillip Experiment" has become known as one of the most famous paranormal studies of all time, so it’s not really that surprising that someone decided to use it as inspiration for a film. In 1972, a group of researchers in Canada were not only convinced that something or someone could actually be created by the power of thought alone and that it was absolutely possible to think something into existence, but some believe they finally achieved their goal by conjuring up a ghost that they called PHILLIP.

  • Horror for the Holidays 2024

Special Christmas Eve Episode of the Podcast!

In centuries past, our ancestors had a much different idea of the holiday season than we do today. In those days, the winter nights were long and dark. It was a time of snow, cold, and ice and days and weeks huddled around the fire waiting for warmer weather to return. Oil lamps, candles, and fireplaces were the only sources of light to keep back the encroaching shadows.

It was the perfect time for ghosts.

In the Victorian era, Winter was considered the spookiest time of year, beginning with Halloween and ending with the spring thaw. All the greatest fictional ghost stories of the time were set in the gloomy winter months and during the holidays, like Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” for instance.

So, if you’ve ever wondered why the singer mentions “Scary Ghost Stories” in the song, THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR, well, now you know….

So, here’s a ghost story for you to listen to while you’re going over the river and through the woods to grandmother’s house this week.

Happy Holidays from Troy and Cody from American Hauntings!
