Adult with Autism

By: Adult with Autism
  • Summary

  • Autism is an individual difference for each person who is Autistic. But what happens when you are Autistic and not welcome by Autism communities because you won’t follow their agendas or ideologies? You start your own. All I want to do, is share my perspective of my version of Autism, openly, honestly, and in many cases...vulnerably. I don’t just share the fun, happy, shiny and friendly. I share real life, and the difficulties of being diagnosed later in life.

  • Adult with Autism | Autism Tax | 88
    Jun 1 2024
Autism Tax is something that costs an Autistic person more in time, energy, effort and finances than those persons without Autism. It is something that is not considered as part of the PIP process in England, but the reality is that we have a higher cost of living for our accommodations. This video is me sharing some of mine. || SUPPORT THIS CHANNEL || Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/ADULTWITHAUTISM Paypal: https://paypal.me/AdultwithAutism Buy Me a Coffee: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/adultwithautism || SOCIAL || Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/adultwithautism Twitter: Adult with Autism (@Adult_w_Autism) / Twitter || LINKS || YouTube: Adult with Autism - YouTube Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/adultwithautism Audio Podcast: https://adultwithautism.podbean.com || OTHER || For topic suggestions, email: oldandautistic@gmail.com

  • Adult with Autism | My Current Workplace 'Reasonable Adjustments' | 87
    Apr 13 2024
This (audio) video has been made due to the number of emails received talking of bad employers who don’t or won’t consider Reasonable Adjustments in the workplace. This (audio) video contains all of my live and current Reasonable Adjustments that I have with my employer. This is from the perspective of Autism, but will also apply to all recognised disabilities under the Equality Act 2010 in England. It may also appear that England having this legislation means it is easy to get Reasonable Adjustments, but it really isn’t. So much so, that I have left my last three employers over this subject. || SUPPORT THIS CHANNEL || Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/ADULTWITHAUTISM Paypal: https://paypal.me/AdultwithAutism Buy Me a Coffee: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/adultwithautism || SOCIAL || Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/adultwithautism Twitter: Adult with Autism (@Adult_w_Autism) / Twitter || LINKS || YouTube: Adult with Autism - YouTube Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/adultwithautism Audio Podcast: https://adultwithautism.podbean.com || OTHER || For topic suggestions, email: oldandautistic@gmail.com

  • Adult with Autism | What are Workplace 'Reasonable Adjustments' | 86
    Mar 24 2024
This has been made due to the number of emails received talking of bad employers who don't or won't consider Reasonable Adjustments in the workplace. This is a rough guide of what you need to consider and the action to take to begin this process. You are not wrong for needing them, and it is the bad employers that put a lot of Autistic people off from working. This is from the perspective of Autism, but will also apply to all recognised disabilities under the Equality Act 2010 in England. It may also appear that England having this legislation means it is easy to get Reasonable Adjustments, but it really isn't.
