A Jazz Musician's Diary

By: Todd Coolman
  • Summary

  • After holding all sorts of jobs through my teenaged years, eventually winding up as a summertime laborer in the steel mills of Gary, Indiana, I made the decision to dare to try to become a professional musician. Having attended the Indiana University School of Music (now known as the Jacobs School of Music) I now realize that I was well prepared for what was to come next. This podcast is aimed at giving you an insider’s view of that process and the plethora of worldwide experiences I have had during my 48 years (and counting!) as a professional musician in both the Jazz and Classical genres. As the years have passed, I have had the time and luxury of developing multiple interests outside of music that I feel have further enriched my life. From time to time, I plan to discuss those aspects of my life experience as well.
