  • Today, Queensland mourns the loss of media legend Hugh Cornish.

    Mr Cornish began his media career in 1959 delivering the first Channel 9 television broadcast from Mt Coot-tha.

    Brisbane Media Stalwart Val Knox told Gary Hardgrave on 4BC Drive, "He was a great mentor to anybody who wanted some help."

    "He had a great affinity for people in trouble," Ms Knox continued.
