We hear from so many spouses who tell us they don’t feel like their spouse respects them. Of course, what respect looks like can look very different for every couple, depending on their unique dynamics, values, and needs. However, one thing remains true: when a spouse doesn’t feel respected in the relationship for ANY reason, it can lead to severe consequences—both emotionally and sexually. Respect is foundational to intimacy, trust, and connection, and its absence can create barriers that are difficult to overcome.

To gain deeper insight, we decided to poll our audience and ask them (you!) what respect—or the lack of it—looks like in their marriages. The responses we received were eye-opening and revealed just how differently respect is perceived and experienced in relationships.
