We are in Seoul, Korea today, and our guest is Bryan Do.

Bryan is Korean American, born in Columbus Ohio and raised in California. Bryan is an entrepreneur, tech executive, journalist, philanthropist and a family man. After a wildly successful near 10-year stint at Microsoft, he founded and sold one of the very first craft-beer companies in Korea to Anheuser Busch In-Bev, and now runs The Three Societies Distillery, where he achieved a remarkable feat by introducing the first ever Korean Single Malt Whisky called KI ONE. This achievement was recognised further where they have already won 2 Golds at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition; this was a rather unusual and shocking accomplishment for such a young whisky from a country unknown in the whisky world. I believe this feat is telling of Bryan’s character, leadership and his obsession with quality.

In our conversation, Bryan and I dive into a wide range of topics, from his upbringing as an Asian American in California, the LA Riot, to becoming the most innovative and successful entrepreneur in the beer & spirits industry in South Korea.
