This week I’m talking to Sue Tappenden, from Headspace for Change.
Sue is a transformational whole-life coach, and a natural-born trouble-shooter with a practical approach to problem solving. She helps stressed, working women take back control of their lives in a deeper, permanent, and life-changing way through coaching, counselling, and mentoring.
She works with smart, capable women who are working hard to juggle it all. They want their life to feel different but nothing they’ve tried in an effort to feel better makes any sustainable difference.
Whether it’s working with Sue 1:1 or as part of her Group Programme, she helps women make fundamental changes to how they are running the show, so they can take back control in a way that fits who they are.
Sue’s style is relaxed, engaging, and with some humour thrown in. Unlike many other coaches who focus on changing what their clients are doing, she helps women make changes to the person they are being. This makes the results effective and long-lasting.
Sue specialises in individual, organisational and system change. It all happens through human beings and their relationships - and that’s her thing! She’s been a senior leader in the public sector and led large-scale change projects, is a qualified HR professional and continues to work with organisations across a range of sectors through her successful consultancy practice. Sue’s work with all clients is informed by her MSc in Change Agent Skills and Strategies, HR/OD background, consulting experience and plenty of ongoing personal and professional development.
Sue appears regularly as an Agony Aunt for Pick Me Up magazine, helping readers to deal with cheating husbands, body image issues, concerns about their children, and all the other everyday things we worry about! She loves this work because it enables her to help others through a different and far-reaching media, alongside the podcasts and other speaking opportunities that she loves to do.
Our conversation points included advice for leaders and HR professionals on prioritising their own wellbeing, healing fractured relationships, and the importance of creating psychological safety in the workplace.
