120: The Honor Killing of Banaz Mahmod

  • Summary

  • The Mahmod family fled Iraq to pursue a better life in South London in the late 1990's, but a better life was not waiting there for the young girls in the family. The parents and other elders imposed strict, religious values onto Banaz Mahmod and her sisters; compromising everything they understood about right and wrong. When Banaz went missing in January of 2006, her boyfriend knew that her many warnings to police were, in fact, premonitions.
