    Hello listeners! Welcome to the Historical Motion Picture Organisation, a podcast in which I imagine ancient history in the manner of fictional, HBO style productions.

    This is the fourth of an eight part series about the life of King Mithridates VI, ruler of the Kingdom of Pontus, and the decades long struggle he lead against the Roman Republic.

    In this episode, our protagonist sets in motion his plans to unify Asia Minor under his Hellenistic crown, but these actions bring him into conflict with the Roman Republic and her Anatolian cronies. With geopolitical tensions rapidly escalating, Mithridates makes a fateful decision and strikes the first blow.
