地獄のような幻聴と、まるで天国の幻聴、そして妄想。発症から35年間で見てきた世界を表現した自叙伝。自分は、16歳の時に統合失調症を発症し、かれこれ35年間この病気と付き合い続けている。自分の闘病体験については、これまでもいくつかの書籍で書いてきた。自分は高校生の時に統合失調症と診断され、現在51歳になる。自分が体験した症状は、地獄そのものだった。これまでの35年間には、本当にいろいろなことがあった。家のなかで暴れたり、怒鳴ったり、眠り続けたり。または、眠れなかったり、死にたくなったり、処方された薬をたくさん飲んでふらついたり、記憶が飛んだり……さまざまなことがあった。幻聴とは、まぼろしの声。誰もいないにも関わらず、人がひそひそ話をしているような声が聞こえる。妄想とは、ありもしないことを考え、思い込むこと。幻聴や妄想はまぼろしなんかではなく、自分が生きている世界そのものなのだ。長い間、悩み苦悩しながら生きてきた。しかし、現在は生きている喜びを感じている。幻聴や妄想が気にならなくなったし、生活に支障がない状態にまで回復した。幻聴や妄想がポジティブなものに変わったのだ。
