Summary

Dr Briana Ortiz's life is seriously flatlining. Her divorce is just about finalised, her brother's running out of time to find a kidney donor, and that promotion she wants . . . ? Oh, that's probably going to the new man-doctor who's already registering eighty-friggin'-seven on Briana's 'pain in my ass' scale.

But just when all systems are set to hate, Dr Jacob Maddox completely flips the game . . . by sending Briana a letter. It's a really good letter. Like the kind that proves that Jacob isn't actually Satan. Worse, he might be this fantastically funny and subversively likeable guy who's terrible at first impressions. Because suddenly he and Bri are exchanging letters, sharing lunch dates in her 'sob closet' and discussing the merits of freakishly tiny horses.

When Jacob turns out to be the perfect donor for her brother, Bri starts to realise that this quietly sexy new doctor might just be her perfect match, too.

Another all time favorite by Abby

I loved Part of Your world. I knew I'd love Yours Truly just as much and it did not disappoint.

Bree was exactly the type of heroine that I love and relate to and Jacob ... all the stars for Jacob, the sweetest man to ever exist on page (& hopefully somewhere in the real word).

Thank you, Abby for sharing such a personal and vulnerable piece of yourself with us 🩷

Slow start but worth it in the end

Got this as a recommendation from Booktok. Slow to get started but once I got past the first couple of chapters I was hooked. Listened to 3/4 of the book today. Really enjoyed it. First book I’ve listened to from Abby Jimenez. Will definitely look for more.

Compassionate and thoughtful

With excellent, nuanced narration by Kayla Garcia and Zachary Webber, Yours Truly has been a lovely listen. A story of love and hope, with a mixture of humour, warmth and realism, I have loved it all.💖💖💖💖💖

Beautiful love story

This book was excellent, and I couldn’t put it down. The characters were likable and had depth and the writer had empathy. It was very moving to listen to. I will definitely look out for books from this author going forward.

It’s ok!!

The first chapter did repeat itself but other than that the story was ok. My only thing I found frustrating was it was a very slow burn story, nothing much happened with the characters until the last couple of hours of the book. The male M/C has bad anxiety. The female M/C was cheated on by ex husband so she has her issues. The narrators did a good job. I would have liked it to be a duet narration but that’s my preference. So in all a little disappointing story line.

Beautifully Written, With Great Narrators

Briana has been so stressed recently. Working as a doctor, she sees ill patients all the time, but it gets that much harder when it's someone you love. Benny, her brother, has auto-immune disease on a waiting list for a new kidney, which could take years. On top of that, her boss is about to retire, and everyone thought Bri was going to get it. Until her boss announced that a new doctor at their hospital would also be up for the position. Bri is furious! She's worked too hard for over a decade to have the rug pulled from beneath her. But this handsome and lonesome doctor Jacob looks like he might need a friend in a new work place where everyone despises him. So Bri, gives him some advise to help get some of the employees on his side. As a thank you, Jacob writes a thank you letter to Bri, thus beginning a back and forth exchange that is heartwarmingly wholesome that really brings these two characters together.

Abby Jimenez strikes again! I got so invested in these characters and following their story and their interactions slowly progress to something more. The trauma and emotive scenes are expressed with such raw passion that you feel all the emotions portrayed and can really empathise with these characters. The plot was funny and had such rich and wholesome elements that I really enjoyed.

The narrators were perfectly chosen and helped give these characters life that made this story an even more of a joy to listen to.
