A cracking adventure whatever the age of the reader

I’m gonna admit it, when these books were first released I didn’t so much turn my nose up at them just didn’t think they’d be very good. Boy was I wrong!
This is a really enjoyable novel and I thought performance was also very engaging.
There’s something very hogwarts about Higson’s
Description of Eton and whilst my only real critique is that maybe too much of the older Bond’s life is setup in this story that felt a little convenient. However if given the opportunity I probably would have done the same.
i did appreciate the snips of history and even the lesson on how a car works which I could see as a really clever way to slip in some education into the story. Moving on to book 2 now and really looking forward it!

The name's Bond, James Bond

A fantastic first ever "mission" for the young James Bond.

Silverfin may be a book for "teens", but I think it's a must listen / read (I also own most of the books for this series) for any James Bond fan.

The Beginning...

If you could sum up Young Bond: Silverfin in three words, what would they be?

Licence to thrill

What other book might you compare Young Bond: Silverfin to, and why?

Skeleton Key by Anthony Horowitz, because Alex Rider could give James Bond a good run for his money

Have you listened to any of Nathaniel Parker’s other performances? How does this one compare?

Yes he is as good as ever and makes it come to life

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Licence to thrill

Any additional comments?

I don't like reading but I loved listening to this

My children loved it!

My children really enjoyed this and a long car journey went much more quickly. They felt that the female voices were a bit samey but are already nagging me to get the next one!

Marvellous

Loved it. Great story and Nathaniel Parker's performance is perfect. What must it be like to be Charlie Higson? He has been a rock star, tv comedy star and novelist. I am 56 and still haven't worked out what I want to do when I grow up.

Fantastic story, very well read

Forget about this being “young Bond”, although the author uses this premise well, it’s a great story and very well performed with excellent voices for each character. I am looking forward to listening to the rest of the series.
