A great wee memoir

Philips memoir is another great addition to the multitude of first hand accounts on the US Marines in ww2. especially in terms of the early years.

Philips seems to skip over the grizzly details of battle in favour of focusing on the thoughts and feelings during his time in the Marines, especially when talking about the lighterhearted momentd he and his fellow Marines experienced. which is a refreshing take on things.
