About this listen
A reflection on the human need for reflective thoughts, stillness, silence and the ‘very natural spiritual dimension’ that often gets drowned out by surface life and its overload.
We know science is awesome, as are its achievements. Yet so far, scientists have managed to sidestep the most awesome reality of all: the true nature of human life, the source of their own genius. How is it that in the overwhelming immensity of the cosmos, on microscopic Earth, human beings exist?
We have not yet looked reality in the face and perceived the nobility and grandeur of who we are, each of us having a responsibility in the universe and being part of a vast and continuing process, which can only emerge from the shadows and darkest corners of our thought when we step aside away from all the noise.
You Matter encourages people to think more deeply about the phenomenon of existence, what it means to be a unique human person and how in unity with one another we can build a future in these uncertain times.

Quite a feat
Listening to this audiobook I really appreciated the thoughts and philosophies that Delia managed to connect and get across in such an accessible way. While she is not the most gifted vocal performer, I can only admire her determination to own the material to such an extent that she also wanted to narrate it. Content-wise, it is something different than what the average person is used to from Drlia Smith, but thinking about it, it all makes sense. She explains her views on philosophical questions in a very down to earth and accessible way. Like her cooking, she explains rather well how everyone not only can but also should have a go at thinking more deeply simply to actualise themselves as human beings.

Deeply thought provoking
Delia has turned out to be an extra ordinary philosopher, thinker, and human being. I bought the paperback because I want to spend more time learning from all her learning.

An essential voice in dangerous times
Beautifully narrated Delia Smith Delia Smith has explored the meaning of life and shows us how to find hope and unity in all creation that science and politics fails to do. Thought provoking and this book should be on all schools social studies curriculum.
