Summary

For the first stage of terraforming Venus, it took a century to move the planet further from the sun and establish a stable orbit where heat would be dissipated. Now, 85 years later, the other terraforming stages continue using various methods.

Buddy Barron lives in one of the enclosed dome cities on Venus. His life is about to change catastrophically. How will he cope? What will he do? Will his family ever be the same? Is Venus the planet of love, or a hellish nightmare?

This is a standalone science-fiction drama set in an altered timeline from John Thornton's Colony Ship Universe. Download this book and find out what moment changed everything....

Just a nice story

I’ve noticed this book a while ago and recognized the writer’s name.
Expecting it to be a new sci fi book in the last series but stand-alone like battle on the marathon.
I started the book a couple of days ago, patiently waiting for the story to mention the colony ships.
Instead I’ve been listening to a nice story about something completely different.

Year Eighty-Five

the narrator did an amazing job of bringing this story to life. The story is about a man named Buddy from his perspective who was born on a Venus colony.
I think the story has lots of potential, but I found ending somewhat confusing.

Disappointed !!!

Was really looking forward for time to listen to this audiobook, I’m guessing that the saying don’t judge a book by its cover has totally proven itself on this one.
The author John Thornton have not really wrote a science fiction here, no action, spins or any surprises. Pretty much nothing special which would make it impossible to put the book down, the only reason which I listen to the whole thing is because of my review promise.

Nick Flesher narrated the book perfectly !

Oded Ostfeld.
