About this listen
Emperor Wray Vasteri was the ruler of the Tornian Empire. His house had ruled the empire ever since the great infection, which struck over 500 years ago, and he feared he would be the last. The number of compatible females was dwindling faster than anyone knew. If they could not find compatible females soon, their entire civilization would cease to exist. It was the reason he agreed to meet with Liron, the emperor of the Kaliszian Empire in Kaliszian space. It was the only reason they had crossed paths with a Ganglian ship leaving Tornian space, and it was the only reason that the small female was discovered. Could she be what they had been searching for?
Wray found himself drawn to the small female he'd found beaten and abused on the Ganglian ship. She resembled a Tornian female but was much smaller. Could she be what he had been searching for?
Kim Teel has had a hard life - at least she thought she had until her parents were suddenly killed, and then her sister and brother-in-law disappeared. At 19 she realized she'd been protected from all of life's hardships. She had been cared for and loved her entire life and had come to expect it. She was terribly spoiled. Determined to change her ways, Kim went looking for her sister, only to be captured by the Ganglians, and it was then she learned what happened to the unprotected females of the universe.
Wray and Kim are both doing the same thing - trying to survive. But what they find is that there are more important things than just survival. And once they learn that, the universe changes forever.

West, the first book in the Tornian series.
Personally I didn't gel with Emma. I understood her learning about herself through the trials she went through but felt that she was just a little too... sanctimonious (?) not sure if that is the right word but am sure someone else will disagree. Otherwise narrative was fine and story was average.

Good One
Any additional comments?
Good story, I am not sure that this shouldn't have been the first book in the series.
The story is somewhat similar to 'Grimm' the first Tornians Book.
There were six narrators in this recording but only two for Grimm and I prefered the 'Grimm' narration.
The story consists of a dying race in need of females and the power struggles that occur inside the race. I feel the female taken from Earth is a great deal more forgiving than I would be.

Love love love!
I enjoyed the reading of this novel, and loved the different voices representing the different characters!
It breaks the conversations from the beautifully read narrative in a way that lends itself perfectly to my being able to see events in my head unfold as I listen. This gave me the same experience of the story as I get when I am reading it for myself! Top notch performances!

DOUBLE WOW!!
Sex (explicit), romance and a good story.
This is the second book in the Tornian series of books.
After listening to Grim I couldn't wait to listen to this book and it didn't disappoint. The Emperor of the Tornian Empire Wray is just as sexy as his brother Grim.I can't say too much because it would spoil it for other listeners.
The narrators are excellent and do the book full justice.
Go on buy it, its well worth a credit

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
As with book one go so wrapped up in this. Ok too, great from start to finish and narration just as good.
