Perhaps never before have I learned so much about one event in any book I have ever encountered. The author gives day by day results of the war with stories here and there along with some background political information. It is detailed, but not overwhelming. I recommend this book to anyone interested in WWII.

The level of detail that this author has taken is impressive. I found this book also hard to put down. This volume covers the war in a day-by-day chronological history with references to later events to tie lives together.

Worst War,,,Well Explained

This book about the world's worst war is extensive and, as always, well researched. The author writes about the collectivism of the Germans and Japanese which allowed their societies to become intolerant of others. The concept that Germans or Japanese were a 'superior' people destined for world conquest and rule was paid for by tens of millions of human beings dying in this tragic war.

It is a detailed book on world war 2. I have already read lots of material but, this book stands out of that. I enjoyed it.

World War II is the area of history that I study the most, and this book is its best description that I have ever seen. The detail is incredible and for the first time I was given a truly complete, unbiased picture of the war.

This book is loaded with information. The battles and the men and women who endured. It is a little difficult to read because of the amount of information that it contains. You may know the history...but there are details in this book you can probably never imagine. Well worth the time.

Good One

I bought this book to educate myself about WWII. When I realized the author chose to actually go month by month, moving back and forth across the globe, I didn't think I could get through it. But as one with no concrete knowledge of WWII, it worked. And, unlike others, I appreciated the short passages pertaining to an individual act of heroism, awarded medal or in some cases individual acts of evil.
