About this listen

Some secrets chill to the bone....

Smashed heirlooms, ripped upholstery, and rifled drawers - who is breaking into homes during a record-breaking snowy winter, vandalizing and stealing?

Whoever it may be is targeting the most vulnerable - the seniors of a small Northwoods town. As the new sheriff, Rodd Durand - home again to small-town Steadfast, Wisconsin - takes on the Snowmobile Burglar.

In the course of her duties, Wendy Carey, the home health nurse, discovers each new break-in and wants more than anything to stop him. The small town reels as the burglar eludes capture and steps up his crimes. A vindictive woman and a secret baby heighten the suspense.

When Wendy and Rodd begin to fall in love, family complicates matters. But the real stumbling block to their love lies within.

Can they break through their own insecurities over the past?

The story itself is engaging but the narration unfortunately falls short. With such a large cast of characters, I understand that giving each one a distinct voice is no easy task. However, the delivery often makes the characters feel flat and indistinct.

At times, the narration is confusing, with character voices shifting mid-conversation. This makes it difficult to follow who is speaking, which disrupts the flow of the story. Overall, while the narrative has strong potential, a more consistent and expressive performance would have made a significant difference.

Decent Story Let Down by Narration

I had a hatd time "sticking with it" the narrator was dreadfull...he wasike listening to an old'time Rafio drama from the 50s ...finally grew accustomed to it...coukd "hear" beyond his melodrama radio voice and LISTEN to the story. . . the story itself was ok and the premuse for the series is promising...I just have to hope there is s better narrator...or I can endure this guy for the next in the series.

Overall good story...
