About this listen
What happens if someone dies on a plane?
Can we give Grandma a Viking funeral?
Why don't animals dig up all the graves?
Will my hair keep growing in my coffin after I'm buried?
Every day, funeral director Caitlin Doughty receives dozens of questions about death. In this book she offers factual, hilarious and candid answers to thirty-five of the most interesting questions posed by her youngest fans, sharing the lore and science of what happens to, and inside, our bodies after we die. Why do corpses groan? What causes bodies to turn strange colours during decomposition? and why do hair and nails appear longer after death? The answers are all within...

delightful listen
If you enjoy her YouTube channel, you'll enjoy this just as much. Informative and with her usual punny personality shining through.

Informative fun
Beautifully narrated. The questions are childlike in their curiosity but the answer are detailed and informative. Enjoyed immensely.

Fascinating and (often) funny
Who knew?…I learnt so many fascinating facts about death rituals. It certainly took some ‘fear factor’ away to have bodily processes explained with some wit. Enjoyed it.

Lovely and light book on such a heavy subject
Caitlin is doing a great job by trying to normalise the idea of death. We are constantly surrounded by it, and one day our time will come. By answering children's questions, she allows this discussion to be easier in the long run, and makes it less of a taboo in her funny way of writing (and reading!)

loved it, but I was left wanting more!
I love Caitlin's work, I've followed her for a few years and have read "smoke gets in your eyes", but only just discovered this book! it seems it's for children, which I hadn't realised before I started, not to say it's childish in any way, but the cover does mention tiny mortals! it's as fascinating as always, and includes lots that I didn't already know. I just wish it was a longer book because I was enjoying it so much.

Laughed my way through this, Caitlin is so dry, I heartily recommend them all!
I enjoy Caitlin generally, her humour, her outlook, her real expertise on the matter of dying and dying well and the ways society and cultures enable or prevent this. Discovered Caitlin's YouTube channel and can highly recommend all her books! also a natural storyteller (no shade to other authors just...not everyone was born to read aloud you know)

It's always great to hear or read books by Caitlin
I really join her style and voice, when it comes to discussing the topic of death, and she does a great job in this book!
As an adult it can seem difficult to talk with children about death, without sugar-coating it or talking down to them, this book does not do that! She is honest with the reader/listener about the subject, using language that is understandable, without talking down to the read or making them feel stupid.
I highly recommend this book people of all ages!
