About this listen
Nowhere is safe when the gods are wicked.
Since the beginning of times, there has always been two sides: Norms and Idols. But never have the scales been so unbalanced as they are today.
I'm a Norm, which means I grew up in fear of the Idols and their godly powers. And now, I'm going to be surrounded by them, day and night. I've been offered a place at the prestigious Gifted Academy, an opportunity very few Norms get.
To survive, I must become invisible. But my hope to get through the academy unscathed goes down the drain when the most powerful boys in school set their eyes on me.
They hate me simply because I'm a Norm. If they knew who I truly am, they'd tear me apart limb by limb. But I'm done cowering away from Idols. It's time for the Norms to fight back, and it all starts with me.
Contains mature themes.

Cannot stand the male narrators voice
I am only 2 hours in and I have to stop. The male narrator has the most annoying voice/accent. He sounds like the meme “tonight will be the night that I will fall for you” on tiktok. His voice is so winey and it just grates my ears so much. There is nothing attractive or enjoyable about the voice and it ruins the whole experience. So disappointed because I am really enjoying the story but every time the male characters talk via the man I want to scream. However the female narrator is amazing and I wish she did the voice for the males the whole way through because she does a much better job!

power corrupts power
Daisy is our FMC and after a traumatic childhood for her and her little sister. we follow her at 18.
This is not our world, God's exist and they have left the world. in their place we have Idols at the top and norms at the bottom. Guess which one our FMC is.
so a world divided and judged by power and level of power. morals are not the biggest things in the eyes of Idols. Most hate anything that are not Idols. so a norm in a school filled with Idols and those between...yea trouble is coming. the main trouble coming from four entitled, cold, mean, and powerful idol boys/men.
There's bully, abuse, death, and smut. for 18 to 20 year old they grow up fast in a world where God exists. So keep this in mind, and remember this is not our world. try and see it as 18 being 28 instead and it feels less weird for anyone in my age range of late 30s.
Of course with the magic in the world, emotions are stronger and the four bully's may be enemies to themselves and Daisy, but soon realise their is more to their feelings, too bad they don't know how to handle it!
the narrators, the woman was great for any part. but the man did sound like all of them were high or something. like dude awesome type voice, took the steam out sometimes.

Annoying male narrator should layoff on the devil's lettuce!
I'm sure the story is good, but the male narrator ruined it for me. The female narrator can have this one. Let the man rest, looks like he's high while reading the story.

Needed to read on kindle
I won't lie, i really can't listen to it. The male narrator is distracting me from the storyline because his voice is a bit irritating.

I love the story, totally gripped to it but the male narrative is annoying, he makes the boys sound like stoners but the female is perfect
