About this listen
Has anyone ever tried to throw a cash register at you? Have so many irritating and inane questions caused you to develop a poker face so strong that a sledge hammer wouldn’t break it? Have you seen every dark impulse man possesses? Do you know every demon by name? Yes? Then you’ve probably worked retail, and this book is for you.
No? Then you’ve probably never worked retail, and this book is for you.
These are the true stories of my ten years working retail. Often ugly, sometimes touching, always funny because it didn’t happen to you.

Brilliant storytelling
I came to this book via Maggie's youtube shorts which were great fun (@refashionedhippie) and when I found the book I had to get it, just to see if it was as fun; and it didn't disappoint. For anyone that's ever worked in retail, anywhere (it transcribes well to UK retail) it's both relatable and witty. Yes the narration is just Maggie reading her book without professional features, but I think it makes it more fun. Plus I thinks Maggie has a voice that would work well reading audiobooks professionally.

The Retail worker's anthem
A romp through relatable and familiar stories that every retail or public sector worker has in one way or another seen, heard or been part of.
Empathic and not shy, I loved it.
No longer working in retail allowed me to laugh at Maggie's stories in the same way she does, with a nostalgic glow and the knowledge, I will never go back!
Definitely worth a listen and a chuckle along.

Funny stories of retail
An easy listen which will make you chuckle, sigh and gasp and worth a listen. Needed a little more editing.

Hilariously relatable
Hilariously relatable and entertaining, well delivered with a delightfully wry sense of humour that, l’m sure, that anyone that has had to professional deal with people in the hospitality or retail environment will love
