About this listen
Neglected, unloved and rejected. A little girl desperate for a home to call her own.
At just 10 years old, Kirsty has already suffered a lifetime of heartache and suffering. Neglected by her teenage mother and taken into care, Kirsty thought she had found her forever family when she was fostered by Pat and Mike, whom she came to see as her real mum and dad.
But when Pat has a heart attack and collapses in front of her, Kirsty's foster family say it's all her fault. They blame her temper tantrums for putting Pat under stress, and they don't want Kirsty in their lives anymore.
Kirsty is still reeling from this rejection when she comes to live with foster carer Maggie Hartley. She acts out, smashing up Maggie's home, and even threatens to hurt the baby boy Maggie has fostered since birth. Social Services must take Kirsty's threat seriously, and Maggie is forced to choose between eight-month-old Ryan, whom she's grown to love, or angry Kirsty, who will most likely end up in a children's home if Maggie can no longer care for her.
Maggie is in an impossible position, one that calls in to question her decision to become a foster carer in the first place....

If you could sum up Who Will Love Me Now? in three words, what would they be?
emotional, fantastic hartwarming
What does Penny MacDonald bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
She was really good at giving the characters different voices and making them her own. Also she read the book really well displaying emotions when it was needed.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It was a bit of both, I felt really sorry for Cursty and what she went threw. Also I felt sorry for Maggie because of the difficult choice she had to make.
Any additional comments?
This is the first book I have read by this author, however I have pre ordered the other books that are due to come out soon by her and can't wait to read there stories. Another great author in this Jonra.

Really enjoyed this book. Narrator's voice was easy to listen to. If you enjoy an insight into the world of fostering, this is a great listen.
