About this listen
Stepsiblings in search of the truth about their mother’s succession of beloved husbands - and their own surprising identities as eligible young nobles - are the endearing stars of this dazzling series from New York Times best-selling author Sabrina Jeffries....
A past kiss with adorably bookish Miss Olivia Norley should be barely a memory for Marlowe Drake, the duke of Thornstock. After all, there are countless debutantes for a handsome rakehell to charm beyond a young lady whose singular passion is chemistry - of the laboratory type. But Thorn has not forgotten - or forgiven - the shocking blackmail scheme sparked by that single kiss, or the damage caused to both their names. Now, Thorn’s half brother, Grey, has hired the brilliant Miss Norley for her scientific expertise in solving a troubling family mystery. And the once-burned Thorn, suspicious of her true motives, vows to follow her every move....
For Olivia, determining whether arsenic poisoning killed Grey’s father is the pioneering experiment that could make her career - and Thorn’s constant presence is merely a distraction. But someone has explosive plans to derail her search. Soon the most unexpected discovery is the caring nature of the reputed scoundrel beside her - and the electricity it ignites between them....
“Anyone who loves romance must read Sabrina Jeffries!” (Lisa Kleypas, New York Times best-selling author)

kept me listening
I thought it could have been concluded earlier and putting in the sex scenes were a bit contrived.

Mediocre
Finished it and can’t remember anything I particularly liked except the fact it was free.

Here to correct my previous review.
I initially complained of the book ending as looking on audible title it does not shows this book as part of a series. So the cliffhanger ending was frustrating. However looking it to other titles from this author I found out a sequence for this book. I think the next one is Undercover Duke, or a similar title. As I was really enjoying the storyline I will once again try to ignore the male voice. The lady’s voice makes up for that being so lovely. I just corrected my star ⭐ review.

Book 3 of a series. This is not a standalone and should not be read as one.
I’ve listened to multiple audiobooks of the VA; while she isn’t my favourite, she does the job well.
I don’t know how to report this to Audible to fix it but this book is not a standalone book. The books are as follows:
Book 1 - Project Duchess
Book 2 - The Bachelor
Book 3 - Who Wants to Marry a Duke
Book 4 - Undercover Duke
I believe there are also novellas in between.
Now because this book is mislabelled I didn’t enjoy it as much—I won’t even bother reading the first 2. The overarching story of the murdered fathers of the half-siblings is not resolved in this book so I would assume it’s the same in the first 2 books. Tbh, the story is lacklustre and the only reason I finished this was because I wanted to solve the mystery. Well, that didn’t happen. None of the characters really stood out. I would be really put off if I had to buy this book so good thing it was included with Audible Plus.
