Summary
A tortured soul meets a damaged family.... A lonely man, a widowed woman, a carefree boy, and a broken girl.... Can the four come together and help heal each other? Or will fear of the unknown and guilt of the past keep them apart?
Her whispered prayers break her....
At night, as she's drifting off to sleep, I press my ear to the door and listen to her heart-wrenching pleas. Her words are agony to my healing heart, but I cherish the sound of them, for that's the only time I ever hear my beautiful daughter speak. Since her father died two years ago, she's grown quiet and withdrawn. Cat's Valley was to be our new beginning, a place where my family and I can heal, but what we find there is so much more.
Scars mar his body. Pain has left him in pieces....
Four years ago, I lost the two things I cherished most in the world. They were ripped from my arms in the most painful and cruel way. Since then, I've kept to myself, preferring to stay away from the pitying looks and murmured rumors. Everything changed when she and her children barged into my life. It was an accident, and I don't deserve them, but now that they've stepped into my life, I'm not sure I can let them go.

Top 10 listen of the year!
I always love when a book is recommended to me, and at the same time have the thought it may not live up to the expectation of how good it will be. This book far exceeded anything I thought it could be. From the first scene, I was hooked. The emotional pull of all of the characters is so strong, every feeling and every breath they take you are taking it with them. Alexander has lived through a horrific accident that leaves him scarred both physically and emotionally. Gwen recently moved to town with her two children after losing her husband. A forgotten wallet, and then huge snowstorm catalyst these two souls together for what I consider fate. The push-pull attraction between Alexander and Gwen is strong and the bond that builds between the kids and Alexander is unbreakable. But the situation as it is prevents them from being together. This heart wrenching story will bring tears to your eyes for the pain they feel, and the happiness they find. The journey to heal and love again has a tough road, but with perseverance, respect and devotion it's worth the ride. And make sure as you listen you have a tissue with you, you will need it!
The narration of this kind of book is key. The narrators need to be able to inflect the emotional pain that is present. Nicole Blessing and Rhett Samuel Price nail this. From the main characters of Gwen and Alexander to the children, especially Kelsey's prayers, I grieved and sang with these two. The book is emotionally fulfilling and I highly recommend it!

Wonderfully emotional.
Whispered Prayers Of A Girl is an emotional read of love, loss, and second chances. When Alexander (a widower) rescues Gwendoline (a widow) and her children they begin a journey hope, trust, forgiveness, and healing. These characters have been through so much tragedy and the scars run deep but together they have a chance of happiness again. It’s a wonderful story that I highly recommend. However I didn’t like the narrators. Sorry.
