About this listen
ATF agent Peter Lomax isn't a hearts and flowers kind of guy, but he can be possessive, and it caused problems - until Carver Fleming. Carver may be part of the art world, but he gets Peter, loves belonging to the man, and Peter treasures the way Carver understands them together.
Carver loves Peter, but he's fully aware that six months doth not a commitment make. Carver wants to make the relationship last forever, but he'll have to leave their life in Chicago to take care of the family he loves. He wants to do it with Peter by his side, but going from the city of Chicago to tiny Colt, Kentucky is a big change.
Carver has only one Christmas wish: Please, oh please, let Peter fall enough in love with Carver's family to follow Carver home.

A sweet, short story
Unlike most of my audio books, this is one that I haven't previously read in print, so the story was completely new to me.
From a story perspective, the characters were great and I loved Pete, his attitude to the situation and having to cope with his - relatively new - partner's need to move thousands of miles away to look after his family and the decision he makes. I smiled, laughed, and even shed a tear at one bit - partly due to the story and partly due to Greg Tremblay's excellent narration which really brought the characters to life.
Short enough that it could be listened to in a day's commute, or during a long-ish job at home, this is one I will listen to again for the feels. And I'll also try some more Mary Calmes as I've liked both the books I've heard so far.

Great little audio.....
Lovely little audio book with the usual high quality narration from Mr Greg Tremblay, of one of my fave stories of Mary's. Such a shame it's a mini read. Delish!!

A bitter sweet story of real life and love
Would you listen to Where You Lead again? Why?
I would. I love Mary's writing, and this story was just lovely. Some bits were hard to listen to, so very sad to face dementia, but the main characters were beautifully done and so easy to empathise with.
What did you like best about this story?
It was so real, heart rending and so very sad, but extremely beautiful and hope filled at the same time. The scene where the 'friends and family' come to have a look at the prodigal son and his partner was laugh out loud funny.
What about Greg Tremblay’s performance did you like?
Greg is a wonderful performer and brings so much punch to the audio. His characterisation is so clear its extremely easy to follow who is speaking in dialogue and his voice has a lovely timbre that is so easy to listen to.
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Bitter sweet love in the real world.
Any additional comments?
Such wonderful book, well worth the listen. I love this team of author and voice artist so much.

sweet, but a lack of drama.
A sweet slice of life. No-one can write love as appealing as Mary Calmes. Luckily, this novella is free of her non-sensical plotslines and ridiculous behavior. I liked the narration, too.
