About this listen
A grumpy-sexy alien and his (mostly) human mate are just trying to get married for goodness sake! But the road to matrimony is riddled with obstacles that could prove deadly...
RIVER
Being engaged to my adorable alien boo is a dream come true. Too bad there’s a target painted on my back. Come on universe, quit messing with true love! For reals. Kai and I need to plan our wedding—which is going to be hella quirky and fun, because I say so.
Cue Shilgar the Deadly, who’s screwing up everything—what with trying to kill me and all. My life is becoming even more unbelievable than my fictional characters, Lord Vardox and Captain Starblade.
There’s no way I’m not walking down the aisle with Kai, so help me! I fully intend to ‘get me to the church’—I mean Vegas wedding chapel—on time. This fool of an assassin thinks he can mess with my dreams of wedded bliss? I don’t think so. He’s about to learn he’s met his match in River Sullivan!
KAI
My relationship with River is solid and wedding bells are in the air. Unfortunately, other parts of my life are…less stable. Between juggling a highly inconvenient Mating Fever that can strike at any time, and dealing with an investigator from Intergalactic Alliance Headquarters, I’m finding it hard to hold onto my usual equilibrium.
When Shilgar the Deadly finally shows up on Earth, gunning for River, the control I cling to is stretched razor thin. I’m desperate to do whatever I can to keep my mate safe—but I’m not sure if I can.
Yet things aren’t all that they seem. New secrets come to light and we’re all left reeling. Apparently, that famous Earthling playwright was correct when he wrote, “the course of true love never did run smooth….”
When a Man Loves an Alien (Tentacular Tales #3) is a (100k words) M/M sci-fi rom com and the third book in the series. It should be listened to in chronological order. This installment features an assassin who just won’t quit, little old ladies at slot machines who should NOT be messed with, a zipline action-hero moment, shocking secrets and revelations, a death-defying climax, and just maybe…a zany Vegas wedding? This book has an HFN ending and no cheating. Never fear—there is a guaranteed HEA by the end of the series!

A fabulous alien romance
This was another fun read in Kai and River's romance this one picks up directly after book 2, and you really do need to have read the previous 2 books in the series to follow the story and get the most from it.
After reading this 9 months ago I listened to the audiobook and Greg Boudreaux does a fabulous job of once again bringing Kai and River and the rest of the characters to life.
Once again this book had so much humour that I was constantly grinning at something our main characters were doing or saying, especially River, well mostly River in fact, but Kai is coming a close second as River's influence is loosening him up big time. I enjoy the references to Dr Who and Star Trek along with other pop references that River uses to explain so much.
There is a lot going on, River and Kai are engaged and planning their wedding, it certainly has been a whirlwind romance. River's life is still in danger from an assassin and Kai is scared he can't protect him. There are plenty of attempts on River's life and I enjoyed the interesting and humourous ways they are subverted.
I, along with River am looking forward to finding out what the Sanctioning Ceremony involves that he needs to complete with Kai, Kai and his family are being very cagey about what it all entails.
I do enjoy the snippets from Captain Starblade and Lord Vardox's story and hope Chloe Archer writes more of this story that has made River a universally known author.
Kai's brother Mal is still trying to get River's uncle Benji to notice him and I am looking forward to them getting their own story.
I can't wait for the final book in River and Kai's story, I'm sure it's going to be so much fun.

Fantastic
I started laughing from the moment Greg Boudreaux begin their sublime performance which started with the mention of the Tentacular Tales merch t-shirts and their slogans. I continued laughing at the pet names River kept coming up with for Kai. I was in hysterics at the end with their quirky wedding. So in other words, I couldn’t stop laughing throughout the entire listen
Yes, there are serious moments that our serious/grumpy Kai and the ever excitable hilarious River must face together. Including the very important Sanctioning Ceremony that River knows nothing about and there’s a new threat looming that changes everything, and to top it all off a very unexpected plot twist!
I was fully engaged from the get go. There’s plenty of tentacle steamy times, pop culture references galore, some drama/action balanced nicely with some romance and plenty of side character surprises to keep things interesting. This entire series is absolutely brilliant and I look forward to more.

More Spectacular Tentacular Tales! Amazing Listen!
O.M.G., this book is absolutely amazing, and I loved everything about it, from Chloe Archer’s magnificent writing style and way with words to the fascinating and imaginative characters and storylines she created to the brilliant audiobook narration performed by the superbly talented Greg Boudreaux. This book is a continuation of River and Kai’s story and picks up after the second book, “Can’t Help Falling in Love with an Alien” ended, it is best to enjoy these books in order written to get the most out of the world building and the ongoing storylines. River’s true heritage has come out and, as they expected, he is now being targeted and there is a hired assassin after him, a ruthless one who is one of the best in the universe. River being River is not phased by it and carries on as usual. Kai, on the other hand, is doing his best to track the assassin down. Besides that drama, there is so much more going on in their world and their relationship, and I loved how it all played out. This is one of the most entertaining books I’ve listened to and it plays out like a movie in my head because of the impressive descriptive details, also impressive are the witty dialogue, references to pop culture, songs, movies, and so forth. This is the type of book that puts a smile on your face and leaves it there the entire time. Besides all the hilarity, there are some great steamy times, too. Chloe Archer, you are the mastermind of these spectacular tentacular tales, a sci-fi RomCom like no other, and one that will stay with me for a very long time. Thanks for the laughs and this exceptional series, I can phrase it with a song, “Nobody Does ‘it’ Better” with ‘it’ being Aliens, because “Nobody Does Aliens Better” than Chloe Archer.
🎧📚🎧 And nobody does it better than Great Boudreaux!! His exceptional and “out of this world” performance continues as he brings these characters and story to life. He is a natural in every role he takes on, gives each a voice that is fitting, sounding believable and just as I picture the characters to sound. His character voices are amazing and have been consistent throughout the series and the quality of his audio is top-notch. He sets the perfect tone for the story, handles the witty humor and the back-and-forth dialogue with ease and lands the humor effortlessly. Boudreaux is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another outstanding listen.

So much fun!
The story is so clever and I’m enjoyed so much to see how everything plays out. I love how although there’s an overarching plot in the series, the end of all books are super satisfying. As usual, Greg’s narration is incredible. Highly recommend!

Tentacles, sass, and superpowers for the win!
Chloe Archer has done it again! Another fabulous tentacular adventure for River, his Boo (Kai) and their family and friends. There is suspense, danger, drama, mystery, and surprises, though nothing too serious and generally played with a tongue in cheek. Chloe is the only one who could stage a dramatic desert chase that has me alternatively holding my breath and laughing my a$$ off. I love the crazy real and found families of River and Kai. I won't share any plot points, because you'll want to experience them for yourself, but I will leave you with three words...assassins, marriage, and onesies. Also love, laughter and snark, plenty of all three. I loved the ending and surprise guest arrival. I am dying to learn more about the sanctioning ceremony.
The narration by Greg Boudreaux is phenomenal! I love all the voices. From the squeaky alien CJ, to the gruff Chewy, to the OTT gay boys and psycho assassin, Greg has a distinct and fitting voice for every character. A+++
