About this listen

Do you remember that moment? That one moment. The one when you changed. People might say it was this or that, but deep down you know. You know exactly what that moment was. Even if you're not ready to admit it to yourself. You know. I remember mine, it didn't just change me. It changed everything. Everyone thought Mason Knight was the whirlwind that swept me away. But nothing compares to those two shots. Those two shots woke me up and made me see that when we fall, sometimes we need help to get back up.

Fantastic Book

When We Fall captured my attention from the very beginning. It took me back to a time that I had long since forgotten about. School!!!

This book deals with some very real & very emotional issues. Erin is at school & is suffering at the hands of bullies. The bullies are led by the girlfriend of the boy who lives next door to Erin; Evan. Erin thinks that Evan is her friend, but to me Evan's actions or lack of actions say otherwise.

Erin tries to carry on with her life & to stay out of the limelight. Then in walks Mason Knight. Mason sits by Erin in all the lessons they have together & he tries to be her friend. Mason shows Erin kindness & love, he shows her that she doesn't have to feel alone or deal with the bullying alone either.

As Erin & Mason grow closer they face events that are unimaginable. They face some serious obstacles that need to be overcome, the start to their relationship is far from smooth or easy. But still they keep fighting, determined to not give up.

The way Ms. Murphy has dealt with writing the events contained in this book is really good. The sensitive issues are handled in such a way that I found myself sitting & thinking; they become thought provoking events. The emotion contained within the pages is palpable, its clear to see & understand why some of the characters feel & behave the way they do.

The way Sloane has written When We Fall makes the characters all so real that I felt as though I was there with than, that they were my friends & classmates too. I also felt as though I was alongside Erin & Mason experiencing their emotions, feelings & events with them.

The narrator does a great job of giving these characters a voice, & helps to bring the story to life even more.

If your looking for a sweet, romantic read, with some heartbreaking, tear jerking moments I'd definitely give When We Fall a chance.
