About this listen
What do you do when your childhood enemy is the only one who can save you?
Beau was devastated. After the worst day of his life, Caleb, the kindhearted and beautiful man he loved, had left him for good.
Beau was now at the end of his rope - and the bottom of his last bottle. With trouble following him everywhere he went, he guessed it was only a matter of time before he turned into his messed-up dad, alone and yearning for a love he foolishly let slip through his fingers.
The only thing he had left was a dull yet meaningful promise ring. He once intended to give it to Caleb but never got the chance. Was that chance now gone forever?
In his typical headstrong manner, Beau refused to believe it was over with Caleb. Forces of nature had tried to pull them apart many times before, yet they always seemed to find their way back to each other.
Beau had to do something drastic. The time was now. He could not risk losing Caleb forever.

Truly Breathtaking
The most beautifully written story I have come across on audible. I'm sitting here with tears rilling down my cheeks. A truly powerful novel by Darrel Banner documenting the lives of Caleb and Beau through the decades from early childhood. Very clever and thought provoking. I know its a good book when at the end I feel as though I have lost a good friend. Such powerful emotions. Chris Chambers has once again shown his incredible talent and flexibility as a narrator. Pure brilliance all round.

Sweet, unique story
Another sweet love story from Banner, with truly perfect narration to match. If you’re tired of predictable boy-meets-boy stories with a lot of lust and then an engagement in the epilogue, this is a great choice. It acknowledges that love and life are challenging and that people grow and change (but don’t worry, still with a HEA). If you’re a child of the 80s, like me, then this book might particularly speak to you and how our generation has experienced the world. Loved it, thanks Daryl.

Excellent story 👏👏👏
I’m grateful I didn’t DNF after the introduction because, although I was not a fan of the disjointed flow of the story, this was an epic love story that was full of uber angsty drama that enveloped my emotions and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The soul crushing shock when Kaleb turned 30 had me sobbing and I was broken for hours followed by heartbreak and joy and more heartbreak and more joy for hours and then the ending left me sobbing in a good way. He was waiting……
