About this listen
I've fallen for a monster. A man who doesn't ask for what he wants—he takes. And now, he's taken me.
Rowan Miller isn’t who I thought he was. He's Nero De Luca, the ex-consigliere of a notorious New York mob family, and he's been lying to me from the moment we met.
If I return home to Darkwater Hollow, it will be a death sentence.
But staying with Nero means diving headfirst into the perilous underworld of New York—a place I’m ill-equipped to navigate.
I should despise Nero for his betrayal, and a part of me does. But as I’m drawn deeper into his world, I begin to see that not all darkness is the same.
Now, I’m caught between two worlds and two versions of a man I thought I knew. Can I trust Nero to protect me from even greater dangers?
Or is my only chance at safety escaping his iron grasp and running away?~~When He Takes is book 2 of the Fallen God duet. Nero and Blake's story begins in book 1, When He Desires.

The story
Everything was amazing. My only issue was that it was amazingly too short and ended quickly. I wish it was a tv show 🤣

Amazing!
I read the duet but listening to it was amazing! The narrators were perfect. The story itself is captivating and I love Nero!

Disappointed!!
I really enjoyed the first book, but the sequel really missed the mark for me. I listened to both on Audible and I’m not sure if I was the female characters development but Lucy Rivers voice began to just grate on my last nerve. So much so I was unable to finish. I was completely bored and fed up of her whiney, judgemental attitude. I was really disappointed as I’ve enjoyed this author and her books but this was a complete let down and waste of my money.

Disappointed - nothing like this first book!
MFC is so whiny, timid and weak one minute and then some kind of Mob wife the next minute, story line was predictable and unoriginal, such a shame as the first book was wicked! I could have seen that made into a film! If it wasn’t for Aiden Snows narration I would have stopped listening half way through, the MFC narration became jarring too, a real shame 😞
