About this listen
When a traveling circus comes to the town of Wachita, Texas bad things begin to happen under the Big Top. Super-sized sleuths, Sue Jan and Lovita take to the tents to track down a crazy clown killer, even though Lovita is fixing to give birth in just a few short weeks. And if that's not enough, a scary Sasquatch is sighted in the Wachita woods, attracting a TV news reporter, a Bigfoot investigative team and a reality show film crew. The townsfolk are shaking in their cowboy boots but Sue Jan and Lovita aren't clowning around.

A Circus, Murders, Bigfoot And A New Arrival.
This is a lovely series of crime novels combining excellent mystery's with gentle humour and a slice of cherry pie, small town, America. The central characters are beautifully rounded and create a warm empathy with the listener. The fabulous narration brings an extra dimension and life to the novel, drawing in the listener for every twist and turn of the storyline. After completing the novel the listener is additionally rewarded with mouthwatering recipes, an idea Agatha Christie missed.

Weighty Problems
Our 2 overweight Forensic females have to solve another mystery in this for me the best book so far in this series, this time the mystery involves the death of the Circus Ringmaster 12 months previously plus other problems that have befallen the circus in the last year, throuw in a Yeti, or Bigfoot and you have a quite humorous tale. Sue Jans "jokes" haven't improved any but hey Ho! Michelle Babb does a great job of the narration once again. A thoroughly recommended listen for anyone who enjoys a good simple Cozy mystery.
I was given the complimentary copy of the book and have provided this honest and voluntary review.

An Intriguing Mystery
I quite enjoyed this one! There was a lot going on but it worked well. This is the second one I've listened to in this series and the characters are growing on me more. Their personal relationships are developing as the mysteries come through and I felt that this one was better thought out and better written than the last one.
The narration as always was on point. Michelle does a great job with these types of books and she makes it all the more enjoyable!

Sassy mysterious goings on
I really enjoyed this book, so much happens and not all of it expected. I liked the unusual plot of a circus visiting a small town. Combine that with some interesting and colourful characters and you have got a very funny murder mystery on your hands. The main characters are fun and I like the fact that they are not the normal run of the mill super sleuths that can take down a bad guy with one punch, in fact they are better than that and can solve a murder while pregnant and on bed rest. Can't wait to see how the story develops with the addition of a little one.
The circus is arriving in town, with a bang. Literally, a gun goes off sending one of the performers to hospital. This wasn't the first accident or mishap to be fall the small traveling circus. Some of the mishaps could be written off as accidents or bad timing but when one of the longest running performers dies in front of them and whispers out a clue with her last breath It's not long before Lavita and Sue Jan are juggling a murder investigation and claims of big foot sightings. Is this a coincidence that the circus arrival also brings a film crew hunting the Bigfoot? They had better wrap this investigation up soon because Lavita is about to give birth. Is it that why she keeps fainting and feeling sick or is someone out to make sure they don't pull a rabbit out of the hat.
I really like the narrator and think she has put in a splendid performance of her own with this reading.

A secret sleaker than cut ochra
A circus is coming to town and Sue Jan is excited. Colourful characters, the thrill of the big top - and murder! But that's not all. The small town of Wachita is also invaded by the press when rumours of a Big Foot sighting also start to circulate. The two lovely large ladies from the beauty shop hairdressers can't resist getting involved in the investigation even if Lovita is in the final days of her pregnancy and Sue Jan (the mayor's wife) has just found out that she, too, is expecting again.
So delicious to catch up once more with the curious gossipy crime sleuthing characters from small toiwn, Texas. They might be a bit silly at times but always funny and, mostly, good natured. SueJan and Lovita's husbands feature more prominently this time, too. The actual murder mystery is a bit convoluted, totally crazy and unrealistic. But that's not what makes these books the joy that they are. It is the people, the trivia, the conversations and the humanity.
Without Michelle Babb's marvellous narration, these fun stories would still be enjoyable. But Ms.Babbs makes them sublime with her wonderful interpretation of the two main protagonists, the Fat Ladies themselves. And her voicings of all of the other characters is equally good, each one given their own distinct accent and tone, and bringing them all to life. The text reading, too, is full of warmth and expression making these lighthearted mystery books so very more-ish
I can fully recommend all of the Fat Lady stories by Linda Cozar to everyone who enjoys larger than life, eccentric and somewhat silly small toiwn characters who are, nevertheless, both endearing and realistic especially when so perfectly performed by the narrator. And with an adventure each time, a mystery to be solved well, what more could anyone want?

Totally entertaining
As silly as these stories are, they are still hugely entertaining and this one is no exception, I loved the characters in this one , and the story was very well developed for a short novel, quite impressively so in my opinion.
It starts with a mean woman and a gunshot, and carries on in the same vein, I loved it and I think you will too if you if you've been drawn to check these reviews.
Great narration from Michelle Babb again.
I very much recommend this book to all cozy mystery fans.

It's OK.
Any additional comments?
I didn't like this one as I liked the others in the series. I believe it is more to do with Sue Jan's immaturity and humour that I did not find funny.
Michelle Babb is excellent as a narrator. She brings out all the characters in the book.
