Summary
Putting the con back into constitution!
When his latest scam backfires, Matt finds himself waking up in a strange new world. Stranded in a sea of floating islands with magic and monsters, he'll need to use every con ever invented to survive—and then more!
A god has chosen him as their champion, and refusal isn't an option. To win the deadly contest he must leverage the world's system of skills and levels and grift together a nation to combat the sky's other fearsome inhabitants.
But, will it ever end? Will he ever cease being a pawn to fate? If he’s going to win the contest and maybe find a way home, Matt will have to face a challenge even he can’t talk his way out of.

Lots of fun
This was my first LitRPG and my first kingdom builder so I wasn't sure what to expect but I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish.
It's a fantastic opening to a series in which I will definitely be coming back for more.
The narrator / sound production was top tier stuff and really elevated the whole thing.
This book felt like '16 Ways to Defend a Walled City' with dragons, orcs and stats.

Great story and an interesting plot
I didn’t enjoy the narration particularly. It’s not that it’s bad per se, but I have been treated to much better.
The story is great and I would like to know if there will be more. I hope so as I’m curious how Riverbend progresses.

“Sometimes luck is good enough”
Unfortunately I didn’t enjoy this as much as Tracy’s other books. Felt a little contradictory at times and the experience ladder didn’t seem as well thought through.
I did enjoy the book though, it’s really easy going and the narration is good too with some great character voices.
I’d definitely listen to the rest of the series as I’m intrigued as to where it’s going.
This is my honest opinion on a free review copy.

Great Listen
The narrator almost put me off however his voice quickly grew on me and I thoroughly enjoyed the performance. the story was nothing too complex but was entertaining and the supporting characters had sufficient character / depth that made them feel real and not a bunch of yes men for the MC.
