FROM THE #1 BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF THE THURSDAY MURDER CLUB

A brand new series.

An iconic new detective duo.

And a thrilling new murder to solve . . .

Steve Wheeler is enjoying retired life. He does the odd bit of investigation work, but he prefers his familiar habits and routines: the pub quiz, his favourite bench, his cat waiting for him when he comes home. His days of adventure are over: adrenaline is daughter-in-law Amy’s business now.

Amy Wheeler thinks adrenaline is good for the soul. As a private security officer, she doesn’t stay still long enough for habits or routines. She’s currently on a remote island keeping world-famous author Rosie D’Antonio alive. Which was meant to be an easy job . . .

Then a dead body, a bag of money and a killer with their sights on Amy have her sending an SOS to the only person she trusts. A breakneck race around the world begins, but can Amy and Steve stay one step ahead of a deadly enemy?

'The thing that shines through in Osman’s writing is that he really likes people and revels in all their foibles and eccentricities. All of which makes for a delightful read – and another little slice of warmth in time for autumn' THE OBSERVER

'This is a sitcom-meets-Bond, and a fine murder mystery’ DAILY EXPRESS

'Much as with the earlier books, I read We Solve Murders in a few pleasured gulps' SUNDAY TIMES

Editorial Review

A retired detective, a kick-ass bodyguard, and a cat named Trouble
I always feel a dash of anxiety when one of my favourite authors kicks off something totally new, but the fantastic new series starter from Richard Osman does not disappoint. There are some familiar tropes at play: retiree Steve Wheeler dabbling in investigatory work, a diverse cast of characters who come together over pints and trivia. But he ups the ante with Steve's daughter-in-law Amy, a truly hardcore veteran-turned-bodyguard who works for an elite protection contractor. And the murders these two find themselves needing to solve are epic and global in scale. In true Osman form, the dialogue is punchy, fast-paced and smart, making this listen completely impossible to put down thanks to Nicola Walker's adroit and vibrant narration. — Emily C., Audible Editor

Enjoyed and would recommend

I throughly enjoyed this book. Being the first in possibly a new series I had worried the first book would of been as slow as the initial Murder club series. with all the detail of background to the story , thankfully it was only the first book I found slow. This book was well paced all the way through. I look forward to the next book

A new group of mystery solving friends

This new series feels like it could easily become one of those widely loved where the crime fighting, murder solving characters become like friends

Loved it. Best one yet in my humble opinion...
Built very nicely as a story. Loved the characters. I partially worked out who and what but very pleased with a few nice plot twists. Thankyou

A Triumph!

The brilliant Osman has done it again, with a new bunch of people this time. I was reluctant to meet a new gang, but trust me, you will love them, just as much as you know who. Nicola Walker, fantastic narration, cannot understand some negative reviews I have read. They just better make it into a film and if Joan Collins does not play Rosie D’Antonio, well I will just kick off!

Osman does Osman

As a writer, Richard Osman has a limited range, but within that range he is very good. For anyone wondering if the magic of TTMC would not be transferred to a new series don’t fear. For anyone hoping for a new set of character traits from TTMC bad luck.
