About this listen
My husband pushed back his chair and dropped to his knees in front of me. His head bowed - he spoke in a stream like a prayer.
“I die when I am in the past, how dost ye know when tae declare me dead? You could decide it, call me dead, and I canna blame ye for it. Because I am. But I daena want tae be, I want tae live - with ye.” (Magnus 1702)
There are things left undone. Magnus must go home and Kaitlyn must go with him.
Because it’s not enough for her to guide from afar. He needs her voice in his ear. They know now they are stronger together.
He raised his eyes to mine and for a second time stood still. My mind said breathlessly, “Yes.” And I swore I could hear him say, inside my head, deep and resonating, “Aye.” (Kaitlyn 2018)
But Magnus learns there are cruel limits to his protection.
Kaitlyn learns how dangerous it is to be responsible for a family.
And together they learn that they have been at the mercy of someone far more brutal than they imagined.
A contemporary romance with way more 18th century history and a bit more SciFi, Warrior of My Own is the third book in the Kaitlyn and the Highlander series.
If you love mysterious, sexy, hunky heroes with desperate hearts and romantic thoughts, heroines with courage who are also very ordinary disasters, and love stories that encompass all time, then you’ll love this romantic series. Listen as Kaitlyn and Magnus begin as a family by picking up a copy of book one today.

Part of a series
This is not a stand alone book. You must read Kaitlyn and the Highlander and Time and Space Between Us in order for this one to make sense. In addition, this book ends with more unanswered questions than the first two and it doesn't pause the story in a very comfortable place (in other words, I wanted to start the fourth one right away). Warrior of My Own is a good continuation of Magnus and Kaitlyn's story, but it's definitely not over yet.
As far as the audio, everything I wrote about the performance of the second book holds true for the third one. Keira Stevens does a great job with the narration making it really easy to listen to the story. I don't speak Gaelic so I have no idea if she's doing it right, but I give her a lot of credit for making it sound easy.

This series just keeps getting better
In this book, Magnus and Kaitlyn have been dealing with time separation the best they can, But the action has been turned up and I was hanging on the edge of my seat so much as I listened. Kaitlyn is growing on me still. But Magnus is a dream and Kaitlyn is so lucky to have caught him. These two are better together, but the danger that surrounds them brings so much suspense. I really like the direction their relationship is growing in. I cannot wait to hear more about them as they face unknown struggles.
Keira Stevens consistently has a wonderful performance with these stories. Keira really seems to connect to the characters and brings them to life. As she narrates, I find myself getting lost in it and I feel as if I am a part of the story. Keira creates a fun escape from the real world into the world of Kaitlyn and Magnus through her narration.

Good Book!
I really liked this book the story gets better with every new book. I love that we are getting to see the characters grow. I think Kaitlyn is getting stronger and more mature with each book and I really appreciate that. I have always liked Magnus's character. The storyline does have a few repetitive parts bat all in all I like this series. 🎧AudiobookObsession

Couldn't stop listening!
Magnus and Kaitlyn's epic time-travel adventure continues. I absolutely adore these two characters, they are three-dimensional with depth, vulnerabilities, and imperfections. I like how Kaitlyn grows with each passing stage of this story. Magnus is utterly wonderful despite his flaws.
Diana Knightley is an outstanding author and, her ability to write the poignant scenes is remarkable. Keira Stevens does a wonderful job with the narration; her Scottish accent and inflection are great.
Warrior of My Own is an adventure; it literally keeps you on the edge of your seat, anticipating what comes next. I wholly enjoyed and recommend this audiobook.

A Warrior of My Own
Book 3 picks right back up. Kaitlyn get a much longer visit in the past this time and realizes its very dangerous yet the trip had its highlights. She and Magnus experience their own joy and tragedy this time. I am loving this series and can't wait for the next book in the series, and look forward to hopefully more of Magnus's sister. Their is still a lot of mystery, plenty of action and romance. Keira Stevens dose a fantastic job with the narration and the accents. Her characters are clear and wonderful. Thanks AudioBook Obsession for the recommendation.

excellent next installment
This is such an interesting series. I typically don't like time travel series because I feel like there are so many mistakes but this book (and series) is so poignant and focuses beautifully on the developing relationship between Magnus and Kaitlyn so that the time travel is, to me, just a background aspect. They travel back in time to save Magnus' brother. While there, they have to deal with bad guys, kidnappers, lack of modern conveniences (I may put that one first in terms of importance. ha), and typical relationship issues. They grow, they love, they make me believe in the wonder of their love. It was a beautiful story. There were moments where it was a bit too slow but overall, I really enjoyed the story.
As with the prior ones, Keira Stevens narrated and was fantastic. That accent she uses is so beautiful and she does a perfect job vocalizing the emotion that the characters must be feeling. I usually prefer having a male and female narrator but she does such an amazing job with every aspect of the narration that I don’t miss another narrator!
