About this listen

How much is too much to love?

Travis Maddox learned two things from his mother before she died: Love hard. Fight harder.

In Walking Disaster, the life of Travis is full of fast women, underground gambling, and violence. Just when he thought he was invincible, Abby Abernathy brings him to his knees.

Every story has two sides. In Jamie McGuire's New York Times best seller Beautiful Disaster, Abby had her say. Now it's time to see the story through Travis's eyes.

A must listen after Beautiful Disaster!

I was totally captivated by Beautiful Disaster so I was in a hurry to down load Travis' version of events... Walking Disaster….and it did not disappoint! Although it is technically the same story, it's written and read in such a way that you almost feel like it is a brand new story. And the flash-forward at the end is very very good, and as it missing from Abby's book it is an added treat to finish with. Once I finished both books, I listened to them again but at the same time, Abby's chapter 1, then Travis' chapter 1 etc etc.... it was good to hear them straight after each other to get the full account of both their feelings. I thoroughly enjoyed both books and was gutted when I had finished them. It would be fab to see this made into a film. I might even purchase the actual book to read on the beach when I’m on holiday next month – that’s how much I loved them!

So much love for this book

Dan Bittner is a great narrator. I was totally hooked on this audible book! I couldn’t stop listening! I liked how the story was told from Travis’s point of view.

Great follow up story

Warning you must read/listen to Beautiful Disaster before this book to fully appreciate it. It is a lovely story and to hear it from Travis's point of view was simply fantastic. Some stories you just dont want to end, what McGuire has done is expand the story and make you fall in love with the characters all over again.

Cute

I liked it a lot, not as much as the first one but it wasn’t a waste. Although because I read them back to back it did put me on a reading slump for the last 50 pages.

Brilliant

This book made me happy and it made me cry! Jamie Mcguire has made a beautiful story of love and loss, I thought Beautiful Disaster was a wonderful book and audible story but in this book I have been touched by Travis' loss and how difficult it is for men to show loss. This has been captured so well by the author. Thank you for a wonderful story!

Way better !

I was hesitant to buy the book since I had already read Beautiful Disaster and I thought I already know what is going to happen and what's the fun in that, right? Wrong! It was a pleasant surprise. I LOVED it. The narrator was exquisite. I fell in love all over again with the characters. I highly recommend it! It has a bonus chapter at the end as closure. I am going to be listening to it again over time. Don't miss out to be in Madogs head, it's refreshing.

Great

Would you listen to Walking Disaster again? Why?

I've listened to this book too many times to count. After listening to the first book, it was great to hear the story from the male side.
