Summary
When Ryan Clooney moves to the outskirts of his small town, the last thing he expects to find is love. Cursed to always be single, he’s burned out on blind dates and pity “plus-ones”. He’s through waiting for "the One" to arrive. But once he meets Maggie - the beautiful, young widow next door - his plans change.
Maggie O’Malley is not looking for love. Since losing her husband, she has withdrawn from small-town life and prefers to be left alone. But her new neighbor doesn’t seem to understand personal privacy, and the more he intrudes in her solitary life, the more she remembers how wonderful friendship can be.
Determined to reach Maggie’s heart, Ryan has an awakening of his own and learns what love is all about.

Ryan and Maggie!
It’s been two years since Maggie’s husband Nash passed away and since then she has only been going through the motions and not really living. She has distanced herself from her friends and family until she meets her new neighbor, and he inspires feelings in her that she never expected to feel again but is she ready to let another man into her life?
There is nothing Ryan would like more than to find a woman to spend his life with however he hasn’t yet found anyone in their small town and is beginning to believe he is destined to be single. He remembers Maggie from high school, but she only had eyes for Nash. He is drawn to her in a way he never expected and is determined to be patient and understanding as he shows her that being with him doesn’t diminish what she shared with her husband.
Maggie and Ryan’s journey is at times heartbreaking and at times heartwarming as she must first heal from the past so that they can have the happiness they both deserve. The narrator conveyed not only the emotions of the story but the friendship and love that Maggie and Ryan shared as well.

Amazing, Really enjoyed this audiobook
Audiobook review.
All the emotions!!
I listened to this series in reverse, oops. I listened to book 2 before this book (Which is book number 1) however, it did not change how I felt about the character's, the storyline or the ending. I loved every second of it. This book is filled with family, support, grief and oh my gosh the love!!
This book had me gripped from the very first sentence. I loved it! Ryan is the ultimate book boyfriend, the way he was with Maggie and the support he gave her, broke me. I literally swooned while listening to this book My heart broke for these characters! Their personal growth throughout was amazing to witness!
I genuinely cannot recommend this book enough. It was fantastic!
Also, Lydia Michael's researched Irish culture and used Paddy's day instead of Patty's day! So that was the ultimate win! Being Irish myself, I don't read a lot of books based in Ireland or about Irish families because I find myself focusing on that aspect a lot.
While listening to the accents I really started to wonder "Do I really sound like that"haha!

BEAUTIFUL Story!
This is the first book in the Jasper Falls series, a small town romance. I love Lydia Michaels's writing! Ryan and Maggie's story is beautifully written, sweet, highly emotional, and heartwarming. Ryan is very handsome, supportive, and caring. Maggie, a widow, is beautiful, broken, and recluse. My heart broke for her. They are awesome together. Ashley Trumpler did a fantastic job with the narration. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listening to The Best Man, the next book in the series.

So good
This one will get you right in the heart! It's a slow build, and a lot of it is super emotional, but that makes it so much more worth it when things finally start looking up and you start to see the other side. I adore these two and can easily say this is one of my top favorites in this series!
Ashley Trumpler did a wonderful job bringing this story to life and I highly recommend giving this audiobook a chance!

A heartbreakingly beautiful small town romance
Wake My Heart is book one in the Jasper Falls series and is the story of Ryan Clooney and Maggie O’Malley.
This is a heartbreakingly beautiful story of a woman overcoming grief, picking up the pieces of her life and eventually realising that sometimes in life, despite circumstances, you can have more than one true love.
Their journey to happy ever after begins when Ryan buys the house next door to the young widow and despite the frosty reception, he makes it his mission to get to know Maggie. Poor Ryan initially has no idea what’s going on with the woman next door or the grief that still envelopes her, however once it dawns on him, he treats her with so much love, care, and respect that her walls slowly come tumbling down. Ryan shows Maggie that life is for the living and encourages her to come out from under the cloud of darkness and into the light.
Ashley Trumpler’s performance is incredible and truly gut-wrenching in parts. Ashley managed to provoke tear filled, heart hurting emotions with her portrayal of Maggie and had me swooning at just how perfect Ryan was.
I loved this slow burn, friends to lovers, neighbours to lovers, small town romance. I loved seeing Maggie blossom and Ryan coax her out of her shell. This is such a beautifully written story that tackled a hard subject tastefully. I can’t recommend this enough and am looking forward to more from this series.
