Good Ending

I couldn’t get into the narrator, and the story definitely didn’t compare to some others I’ve read. But I still found the ending good, and eventually got into It.

Well crafted Viking Saga

If you like your battles bloody, your characters cruel and a plot which twists and turns like the coils of Nidhogg who chews on Yiggdrasil’s roots then this is for you!
Peter Gibbons’s saga transports the reader to march alongside Ivar the Boneless and the Great Heathen Army. Occasionally he repeats back story but it is not too frequent to irritate. Nichols Jordan’s narration is nothing short of excellent. His rendition of the different characters voices superb. Off to download the next in the series!

Fantastic but...

This was really fantastic, and was the first audiobook I completed for a while. At first I found the narrator a little flat but either he grew into it or I got got used to it, and he did a fantastic job! The characters and story were compelling. The end felt a little a rushed perhaps, but outside of that it was great! The first half especially is one of the best books I've listened to!

The BUT is that any book in a series has to be judged in the context of the series, and doing them knowing the reviews fall off a cliff due to the change in narrators at books 5 and 6 is disappointing!

Superb

Stunning tale expertly crafted to worm into your thought cage. Once there it grabs you and pulls you deeper into a long ago world of intrigue and blood.
Like a deep River it pulls you on slowly drowning you in its tale
BRILLIANT.
