About this listen
Intrigue and romance in the Caribbean.
When Finn's boss assumes the role of femme fatale, it ends badly for her. It's never a good idea to seduce your employee, but when his girlfriend is a cold-blooded killer, it's downright foolhardy.
Finn and his coworker Aaron Sanchez uncover a conspiracy to disrupt the U.S. political system. Finn's lady friend Mary Beth O'Brien has stolen files that name the conspirators. A coverup ensues. The agency they work for fires Sanchez and issues a warrant for Finn's execution, but Sanchez lands on his feet, and Finn's hard to kill.
Sail along with Finn and Mary as they work their way through a more than normally complicated courtship. Listen to Vigilantes and Lovers today.

If you can hear hoofbeats think horses not zebras
Third in the series and Finn and Mary (or whoever she is today) are still having a difficult time with trust issues - could be because Mary is constantly lieing.. But one thing they can agree about, Nora has to die.
Told in the first person from Finn's perspective, the assassin tries to resolve his fears about his newly found lover and relies upon old friend and colleague, Aaron, to chase information about their boss and the mysterious Forces. Once again set mostly aboard Island Girl in the beautiful Caribbean islands, this book is a pleasure to read as well as an exciting political thriller. Vigilantes and Lovers can be read as a stand alone, but for full pleasure and understanding it is definitely advisable to have previously read Assassins and Liars (book one) and Avengers and Rogues (book two) in the J .R.Finn Sailing Mystery series. They will not disappoint.
Narration throughout is by the very talented David Bosco, who becomes the voice of Finn, as well as giving individual appropriate voice to all of the protagonists, reading throughout with good pacing and perfect understanding of the text. His is a fine performance, enhancing an a!ready excellent book.
I was very fortunate in being freely gifted with a complimentary copy of Vigilantes and Lovers, by the rights holder at my request. Thank you so much. I really enjoy this series, there is something serene about it despite all of the activity, conspiracy and betrayal. The writing is excellent, the relationship tempestuous, the characters realistic and the mental scenery superb. Plus it's an original and excellent story. Highly recommended.
