Summary

Chloe Rivers never thought she would keep secrets from her best friend. Then again, she never imagined she would fall in love with him either. When she finally reveals her feelings, rejection shatters her, rendering her vulnerable and sending her straight into the destructive arms of the wrong guy.

Gavin Rhodes never saw the betrayal coming. It crushes him. Chloe has always been his forbidden fantasy; sweet, tempting, and beautiful. But when the opportunity finally presents itself, he makes the biggest mistake of all and denies her.

Four years after a devastating tragedy, Chloe and Gavin's worlds collide and they find their lives entangling once again. Haunted by the past, they are forced to come to terms with all that has transpired to find the peace they deserve. Except they can't seem to get near each other without combatting an intense emotional connection that brings them right back to where it all started, their childhood treehouse.

Chloe still holds her secrets close, but this time she isn't the only one with something to hide. Can their deep-rooted connection survive the destruction of innocence?

A CHILDHOOD TO ADULT LOVE STORY

Up in the Treehouse was my first book by KK Allen and I am sure it won't be my last.

Chloe Rivers first meets twin boys Gavin and Devon when they move in next door to Chloe and they all became childhood friends. The treehouse was somewhere they spent all their time and it later held so many heartwarming and heartbreaking memories. Gavin was Chloe's protector while Devon was a bit of a loose cannon especially when they reached high school age. They were a close group of friends with a strong bond until things began to change and Chloe started dating Devon in high-school.

Later in the story, there is an accident of sorts and something traumatic happens that has Chloe fleeing and moving away. Without adding spoilers the story then moves to Chloe's return 4 years later.

There are so much heartwarming moments in this book and angst that I didn't expect.
A story about love and loss, friendships, trust, forgiveness, regrets, healing of hearts and mostly second chances. Up In The Treehouse is a journey.

A beautiful story that I really enjoyed. I listened to this on audio and could not wait to return back to it after each time I had to put it down. This is definitely a Sunday read, one of those books were you lock yourself away on your day off and just immerse the story and enjoy.

TOLD IN FIRST PERSON POV AND LEADS TO HEA.
