About this listen
Anxiety is a survival skill gone haywire. It happens when our brain is working so hard to protect us that it forgets to notice that the danger has passed. It feels like choking, stifling, smothering, tingling, panicking - our brains cut out and we start to make bad decisions - all normal anxiety reactions.
Dr. Faith G. Harper, author of the best-selling Unf--k Your Brain and This is Your Brain on Depression packs a ton of knowledge and help into this practical manual. She helps us understand the history and science of anxiety, realize when it’s become a serious problem, know the difference between anxiety and other conditions, and cope with it in the moment as well as addressing it long term.
This audiobook is a lifesaver for panic attacks, breaking out of flight-fight-freeze responses, similar and co-occurring conditions, and for chronic anxiety. Straightforward, funny, kind, and judgment-free, it includes a wide range of tips, exercises, and medical interventions. It’s also good for people who aren’t burdened by daily anxiety but want to cope better with the tough life situations we all face. Listen to this audiobook and breathe!

Always worth a listen
I do love this unusual set of books. Wonderfully sweary, however this publication in particular had some terminology that I found a little disagreeable.
Overall a decent listen.

Very helpful!
I found the information provided in this book very useful and helpful in respect to the anxiety I have been through, and though not all of this was relevant to me it was delivered in a way that I found funny and not as serious as alot of self help anxiety books! I would definitely recommend it, and I'm looking forward to listening to her other titles.

It’s definitely a Good Pathway to Unf*cking Your Anxiety
This Book was down to earth, uncomplicated & was easy to listen to. The advice was informative and had a good all round coverage of helping yourself or at least pointing you in the right direction. The swearing at times was unnecessary but at other times appropriate and made a valid point. I enjoyed listening to the advice & come away feeling refreshed.

Witty and straightforward on very serious topic
I enjoyed it a lot as listening to it was fun. But it is also full of good advice on understanding and dealing with anxiety. A good proof that a good and useful book doesn't have to be long and doesn't have to be boring or uptight!

was it 'womb bearing people' that she said?
that really really pissed me off. I have sympathy for anyone who genuinely believes they were born into the wrong body, that must be awful & I wouldn't wish it on anyone. but to refer to real women as the above (or whatever she actually said) is just not on at all. they don't get to take our descriptives! this will not age well! also, the constant swearing to trying & seem cool & edgy was mentally taxing.

woke
Gave up on this one. The narrator wss great but found the constant swearing an unnecessary distraction from content that didn't provide anything new or noteworthy. Woke terminology was the last straw.
