About this listen

Captain Astuawilda Kaika is an elite forces soldier, a demolitions expert, and a woman who loves secret missions. She most certainly isn't someone with the patience to teach General Zirkander's raw cadets how to survive encounters with the enemy. Certain she's been given this duty as a punishment, she confronts her superiors, only to find out that King Angulus himself gave her the assignment.

When she attempts to reasonably and respectfully - and certainly not presumptuously - explain to him that she's not suited for teaching, she gets swept up in a mission to a secret research facility that has been invaded by enemy agents. Soon, she, King Angulus, and General Zirkander are engrossed in an investigation that could change the world - and destroy all that they know.

Good but I personally enjoyed a bit less than first five books

It was a good side story to the main theme but somewhat less for me. Maybe Sardel mainly being absent?

its a little short but a nice addition

I listened to this in the order if the story and recommend doing that. But it was a bit expensive for one credit as it is very short story.

it's not a .5 story...

The book isn't 5.5 considering actions from this book directly affect the next one. it's just book 6. it wouldn't matter if the actions n this book were inconsequential but the very first chapter of book '6' contains a pretty big revaluation from this book.

you shouldn't pretend a book is a side story if it's just the next part of the story, and you shouldn't pretend it's a .5 book just because it's short.

all that aside. the story is great. if you enjoyed them so far, this book will also pleas you, I'm sure.

Short

Okay so this is installment 5.5 in the Dragonblood series. It tells you when you buy that it's 5 hours ish long which honestly feels to small for a credit but I am so far into this series now that I need all of then, lol. The story itself is a good little sideline and we get to know Kayka and Angulus much better which is nice as previously they were definately not main characters. Sadly the story is very short indeed as more than an hour of the overall time is a "free" preview of the next book in the series which I will be honest - I was not happy about at all. These little novellas costing as much as a full book that lasts 15 to 20 hours is really frustrating to me but I would still have bought it because I am doing the series and would not miss one. So basically this story is good and part of an overall series but very very short.
