Summary

Lucy needed a change of scene. She didn't expect the change of a lifetime.

Doctors Without Borders has been Lucy Young's life for the past four years. After an emergency extraction from a conflict zone, she’s making a change from saving lives under gunfire to practising medicine in safe, serene Siena. Now treating obscenely wealthy patients at a private clinic, she's never felt less comfortable. She's used to helping those in dire need - not those in need of a nip and tuck.

Her turmoil grows when she encounters injured tennis star David Lorenzo, whose potent smiles make Lucy forget her aversion to the rich. She’s soon falling for the sportsman but feels like she's losing herself in this world of excess. All she’s ever wanted was to help the underprivileged and be a positive change in the world, so can her future lie in Siena at the clinic - with David?

This sunny romance is the perfect escape for fans of Lucy Coleman, Lori Nelson Spielman, and Rosanna Ley.

T.A. Williams lives in Devon with his Italian wife. He was born in England of a Scottish mother and Welsh father. After a degree in modern languages at Nottingham University, he lived and worked in Switzerland, France and Italy, before returning to the UK. He’s taught Arab princes, Brazilian beauty queens and Italian billionaires. He speaks several languages and has travelled extensively. He has eaten snake, still-alive fish, and alligator. A Spanish dog, a Russian bug and a Korean parasite have done their best to eat him in return. His hobby is long-distance cycling, but his passion is writing.

Critic reviews

The characters in the story really make it exceptional... Natalie is a brilliant protagonist... and I absolutely adored her journey to self-discovery to find her new identity.

Wow! This is contemporary romance at its best! The writing is exquisite. And the plot is brilliantly clever, captivating, and delightful with a little bit of drama, love, loss, and of course romance.

A lovely book

This is a new author for me, I came across him whilst searching for books read by Colleen Prendergast as I just love her narration, so I one clicked thinking I'd enjoy listening to it and I wasn't disappointed. It was a lovely story and no angst, which made a nice change, it is very easy to listen to , one I definitely recommend and I will be buying the other books for sure!

An interesting read.

I did like this book even if I was expecting more flesh on the bones of the story. It almost flew high but not quite!

Rather dull

Quite inferior and dull compared to William's other stories of murder/mystery. I felt let down.

Narration Destroyed the Audio

Wooden, humourless, characterless, functional asthough reading a shopping list. Practical narration without a hint of emotion. Absolutely destroyed the book and the characters esp

OMG Awful

I have just finished listening to TA Williams series with with PI and ex Inspector Dan and his faithful BFF Oscar, the Black labrador. It is a good series with a reasonable plot lines.... So I thought I'd try something else of his..well after this I thought it might be hers... Unbelieveably T A Williamsd is a chap.
Apart from his total love affai rwith black labradors... borderline creepy...and there are loads of them in this book, there was nothing else that appeals.
It is one of the sickliest "Mills and Boon" type stories ever. It left me feeling quite nauseated.
If Mills and Boon is your thing... you'll love it. If you were hoping for a story ...nope look elsewhere.

SPOILER
In a nutshell Damaged and traumatised beautiful (although she doesn't realise it....comme d'hab) talented surgeon returns from her saintly nurturing stint in the Congo to work in a private exclusive clinic in Sienna. She operates on handsome and also emotionally damaged tennis superstar. They fall in love,....obvs, who'dve thunk and he gives up his fortune to medcine sans frontiers and they drift off gooily together.
I was left so sticky with all this honey...... I had to have a shower... or two

Dire book and hurried reading…

…maybe because the reader was desperate to put listeners out of their misery as soon as possible!

Having listened to and enjoyed Williams’ murder books I thought I’d give this a go…but what a mistake it turned out to be!
This turned out to an unrealistic, poorly written and corny love story of the Mills & Boon genre.
Williams has reused several the themes from his other books: the sun, the settings, the wine, labradors (to excess!) & porcupines all put in an appearance but the similarities end there.
Definitely not my best buy from Audible.
