About this listen

Between the pissed off creatures that want demon-hunter Lily Marks dead and the fallen angel who just.... wants her, Lily is about ready to trade forever for a comfy job in a cubicle farm. The fact that she and Julian are civil to one another is enough to have her thrown out of the Sanctuary, but she can't shake her not-so-angelic stalker or how he brings her dangerously close to ecstasy.

Her forbidden relationship with Julian provides the perfect fuel for suspicion when a traitor is discovered to be working within the Sanctuary. Lily quickly finds herself hunted by well, everyone. Her only hope is to discover the real traitor before she loses everything - and she'll need Julian's help. That is, if Julian is really there to help her - and not destroy her.

Yeah, being a Nephilim isn't everything it's cracked up to be.

Narration not suited to book

With a cast predominantly of men, using a woman's voice was all wrong. her 'voices' sounded like computer generated voices - zero range so I struggled to distinguish each character and had to increase narration speed to keep going.
The story was good but the narration made it hard to finish the book. Disappointing...

Good but not great

Not my favourite Jennifer book but still good. I guess I am not a big fan of falling angels etc. The narrator was really good and the story somewhat interesting but I am not going to follow up with the other books in the series (if there is any).

Easy listen

Definitely worth a listen!
I quite enjoyed it and couldn't put it down. Nice few twist keep you engaged. Looking forward to the next book.

Only bad point for me is the narrators voices for the male characters, as they all sounded very similar.

A brilliant story

While I have read this book a long time ago it was great to see it brought to life on audible. Although I wasn't always keen on the narrators voice. When she did the voices they were really good though. A really good story about nephlim and fallen angels, dead heads and minions and a team of nephlim at the sanctuary who spend every day saving humans but they aren't allowed to really have a life of their own. Lily is one of the nephlim and she's been at the sanctuary since her mother killed herself. Lily has been warned that the Fallen angels are bad but she can't help seeing the good in one of them. This is a stand alone book but there could have been more and we live in hope that one day jennifer l armentrout (J Lynn) will write more.

Enjoyable

I enjoyed the story, and the performance of the narrator wasn’t bad. It kept me entertained for several hours. However, the story doesn’t feel complete and it is as if there should be a second book. It is complete enough though, so I don’t feel the need to listen to a second book, if there was one. I thought there was too much fighting and training descriptions that felt like page fluff. That said, I still enjoyed the story and definitely worth a listen.
