About this listen

Psychologist Dr. Andrew Dobo’s Unburdening Souls at the Speed of Thought recounts the transformative journey to wholeness that was modeled by Christ and is accelerated by a ground-breaking therapy known as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). Psychology and religion intersect in the audiobook’s incredible tales, which move from despair to hope, hate to love, and fear to peace. This audiobook is not a “how to” manual. It does not explain exactly how EMDR, a swift and effective but little-known form of psychotherapy, is done.

It does seem important for the listener to know a little about the process, but this audiobook is about the activation of the soul. EMDR gives access to the person’s higher self. It opens a portal to inner wisdom by shutting down the ego and intellect. This is no small thing. Monks meditate in silence for years to get to a place of wisdom that EMDR can get to in moments.

EMDR is always done with an image, a memory of a wounding event, and the negative thought that resonates with that event. EMDR aligns the heart with what the head knows to be true. The intellect cannot cure these wounds, but we can heal them with EMDR.

Psychology rejects religion, for the most part, and religion rejects psychology. In this audiobook I attempt to unite the two.

A final note: All identifying information of these cases has been changed to protect the client’s identity. Sometimes the age has been changed, the sex of the client is sometimes changed, where they were from or what they looked like. If I mention children that is usually not accurate.

The audiobook will give hope to those suffering mental anguish as they are exposed to a new map of the soul modeled by Christ’s passion and shared by psychology. It shows how survivors of trauma can heal and overcome negative beliefs about themselves. It’s for those who want to better understand the soul and for those who do not even imagine such a thing exists. And it will fascinate any listener interested in the power of the mind.
