About this listen

He wasn't always this rich. This hot. This difficult.

Aaric Christos was a guy who protected me. Wanted me. Maybe even loved me.

That man is gone.

In his place is the most powerful real estate tycoon in the city.

He's a cold, ruthless, aggressive businessman.

The only one who can save me and my start-up from ruin.

It takes every ounce of courage to put my pride aside and ask for his help.

I didn't expect him to offer it easily.

And he doesn't.

Instead he vets me harder than he's vetted anyone.

Don't invest in what you don't know, he says.

He's assessing every piece of me, to the point I've never felt so bare.

I yearn for the boy I once knew, whose touch once craved me.

Putting it all on the line will be worth it, I tell myself.

Until I realize - too late - that some risks are not worth taking.

A sexy new stand-alone contemporary romance by New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Katy Evans.

boring.....

Only the last hour is good. I'm very disapointed. I've read a lot of katy's books and was expecting more!

Tycoon

This is a great story with retreats and second chances. Sadness and joy with everything in between. Loads of fun to listen to.

It didn’t work for me

Sadly this book didn’t do anything for me, until possibly the last 20% when it got decidedly more interesting. I didn’t really connect with Bryn, I found her to be a little spineless with no particular spark or energy. Aaric on the other hand was a tall drink of water in the desert, I loved him, what’s not to love? He has everything he ever wanted, except Bryn, his one true love. Why then did he not get in touch with her when he made his business a success? The characters didn’t gel together and make me want more for them (until the last few chapters). The story had potential, but sadly it didn’t work for me. The narration I found to be mediocre at best, Elizabeth Louise did nothing to endear me to Bryn. Sebastian York, as ever, perfect.
