About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

Attempting to rebuild her shattered life in the South of France, former MI6 operative Kate Henderson receives an unexpected and most unwelcome visit from an old adversary: the UK prime minister. He has an extraordinary story to tell - and he needs her help.

A Russian agent has come forward with news that the PM has been the victim of the greatest misinformation play in the history of MI6. It's run out of a special KGB unit that exists for one purpose alone: to process the intelligence from 'Agent Dante', a mole right at the heart of MI6 in London.

Against her better judgement, Kate is forced back into the fray in a top-secret, deeply flawed and dangerous investigation. But now she's damaged goods. Her one-time allies no longer trust her. And neither do her enemies.

With the stakes this high, can the truth ever come out? Or is the cost of uncovering it a price that no one, least of all Kate, can afford to pay?

Excellent Trilogy Ending

I had been really looking forward to to the third instalment of this MI6 thriller and Tom Bradby certainly did not disappoint. Please read them in sequence otherwise you will not gain the full benefit of the series. The characterisation, spycraft and plot twists were all satisfying as was the ending. I won't give it away as half the fun is trying to sift the red herrings from the multiple candidates for MI6 super mole. The reading by Juliet Aubrey was first rate and I look forward to Kate Henderson taking on new challenges, maybe in SE Asia...

Another great book from Tom Brady

I really enjoyed this book and listened to it every spare moment I had. There are moments of real tension. I loved the narration but agreed with another reviewer who said she was a bit quite at times. The story does rattle on and we are left with a reason for the next book. I hope it comes soon!

Very satisfying conclusion

Regardless of whether you anticipate the big reveal of Agent Dante, this is an brilliantly gripping yarn.
The third and final instalment moves from the Dordogne to Prague to Moscow with travelogue details fleshing out the action.
It’s quite a low-key serious book that tied up all the ends pleasingly, although perhaps it could’ve done with being lightened with a little more focus on the younger members of SIS.
It’s refreshing to find such a richly drawn cast of characters.
Sometimes the narration was so deep and earthy that I had to raise the treble however, it was a very enjoyable listen.

Excellent spy thriller if a little predicable

I enjoyed this story; the follow on from the last two spy books by Tom Bradby. I didn’t feel the story was quite as compelling and conclusion was pretty obvious from about halfway through the book by omission to mention this person could be suspect even though the plainly should have been, I expected that there might be a twist at the end but there wasn’t. The narrator was excellent although her tone of voice was quite quiet & low, so difficult to hear when driving or doing other things around the house, nevertheless easy to listen to and had good differentiation between characters.

My favourite spy books by a long way

Really enjoy these books. I even pre-ordered so I got it quickly. Must admit I had cracked this one a while ago, but still enjoyed it playing out. So well written. Great characters and brilliant narration. Well recommended.

Terrific series of stories

I was totally hooked! The three Kate Henderson books kept me gripped as the plot twisted and turned. A great insight into the secret world of espionage. I look forward to listening to more of Tom Bradby’s stories.
