About this listen
Random House presents the audiobook edition of Thyme Out by Katie Fforde.
Love can grow on you, or can it? A wonderfully romantic novel from the number one Sunday Times best-selling author of Recipe for Love, A French Affair and The Perfect Match.
When Perdita Dylan delivers her baby vegetables to a local hotel and finds that her unpredictable ex-husband, Lucas, has taken over the kitchen, she is horrified - particularly when she discovers he's being groomed as the latest celebrity chef and needs her picturesque, if primitive cottage, and her, in supporting roles.
Her life is further complicated when Kitty, her 87-year-old friend, has a stroke. Perdita needs someone to lean on - and Lucas seems so keen to help that she starts to wonder if he's really such a villain. Can she cope with all this alone? Or should she face up to the fact that 'you can't cuddle lettuces'?

About time
Been a fan of Katie fforde and the jilly bond duo for sometime . The stories are always light hearted and characters are always endearing . Settings are what really set the scene . I just hope the rest of the back catalogue gets the jilly bond treatment. Highland fling next please . That is until the next new release

A most enjoyable read
Listening to this story was both entertaining and hilarious in parts. I really enjoyed it.

an easy listen
I enjoyed it in the main, but i do think the villan ( roger) could have perhaps been a little more villainous and believable. Kitty was definitely the sort of women we would all probably wish to have as a friend I really enjoyed her character.
Jilly Bond does very well with the characters and getting across their individuality.

Terribly narrated
The story was good. Typical of Katie Fforde’s work, the story is enjoyable and charming.
Unfortunately Jilly Bond’s ability to narrate the younger characters is completely unconvincing. Perdita has the voice of a young child of around 6 without the strength of character that is portrayed in the text. She sounds pathetic; not a strong, independent and hardworking small business owner. Lucas sounds like a man in his 50s to 60s. The narrator’s only convincing voice was that of Kitty. I feel that a novel with younger main characters would have been much better narrated by someone of a vaguely similar age. Had the main character been in her 50s/60s, I’m sure Jilly would have been better suited. Such a shame as I felt she was such a poor choice for this novel and it felt incredibly disjointed.
