About this listen
Edited by Maggie Slighte and Amy Dohn.
Imagine yourself hitting the back wall of grief and finding yourself in the dark, unforgiving coldness of the cellar. You are surrounded by ghosts of regret, and a past that continues to haunt you. Everything is so dark and chaotic that there is a weight making it hard to move, much less see any way out. Where do you begin?
The cellar serves as a metaphor for intense grief and hitting bottom. Join Etha as she takes you on a poetic journey of emerging from her cellar and back into her life, her home, and her heart. While this is not a self-help audiobook or a "How to", it is Etha’s greatest wish that you find something in here that moves you out of your own cellar.
About the author: Growing up on a farm in Trenton, Ohio gave Etha Walters enough space and adventure to find magic in the little things. Disabled since 10 months old, the farm life also gave her lots of room to challenge herself and enjoy a simple life full of romantic dreams. Etha started writing as soon as she could string sentences together, and the rhythm and verse found her from there. Etha’s first work of poetry, Echoes Through Corridors Silence in Rooms, was self-published in 2013. Etha currently resides in Middletown, Ohio, where she performs her poetry at local venues.
