Napoleon Hill
About this listen
Think and Grow Rich is a motivational personal development and self-help book written by Napoleon Hill and inspired by a suggestion from Scottish-American businessman Andrew Carnegie. While the title implies that this book deals only with how to achieve monetary wealth, the author explains that the philosophy taught in the book can be used to help individuals do or be almost anything they want. For instance, Jim Murray (a sportswriter) wrote that Think and Grow Rich was credited for Ken Norton's boxing upset of Muhammad Ali in 1973.
The book was first published in 1937 during the Great Depression. At the time of Hill's death in 1970, Think and Grow Rich had sold 20 million copies. It remains the biggest seller of Napoleon Hill's books - a perennial best-seller after 70 years (BusinessWeek's best-seller list ranked Think and Grow Rich as the sixth best-selling paperback business book 70 years after it was first published). Think and Grow Rich is listed in John C. Maxwell's A Lifetime Must Read Books List.

Think and grow rich
Simply the best book ever written that every entrepreneur should read.
My advice would be to read, or listen to it, regularly

Well read and easy to listen to!
I read this book and listen to it at the same time! Probably one of my best purchases!

Listen at 1.25 speed or higher
The negative reviews regarding the narration of this book are, I believe, quite fair, but it is more bearable when listening at 1.25 speed or quicker. My main bug-bears are the poor use of inflections and unnecessary mid-sentence pauses.
As for the book itself, I think there's a lot of truths to glean out of it. But also some wishy-washy theories and some principles, which may not take you on the best journey, though they arrive at the right destination. It is not my favourite sales book; very American, arguably misogynistic in places (cause Vs correlation) and some outdated points (e.g. the cost of living). But there are many great points and helpful examples of the power of thought and determination in relation to business success.

Fabulous book ruined by a really dull narrator!
What did you like most about Think and Grow Rich?
The book is fabulous
How did the narrator detract from the book?
The narration is really dull and slow, twice I tried to listen and twice I found myself falling asleep.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
YES! I like to listen to audiobooks whilst travelling.

Narrator bored me to death
Going to have to buy the book instead of audio because I can’t help but fall asleep.

Unlistenable
The book it's self is one most recommend to read and I do still intend to read it. To listen to though I find impossible. The narrator sounds as though he is reading whilst sitting in a bath tub and over pronounces every single word.
I believe the information contained in the book to be valuable but unfortunately I am not able to concentrate for further than around 30 seconds before my mind wonders. The narrator fails to keep the listeners focus.
Obviously narrator and performance receive one star rating. The story gets the same rating simply because I wasn't able to focus on it. I gave it three hours to prove it's self, probably closer to four hours if you include all the rewinding I did when I found my mind wondering. I give up and will be returning the audio book. However I will probably buy the kindle or physical version.

non-scientofic anecdotal musings
some "teachings" that cannot and will not get anyone rich on their own. some general life advice based on a handful of examples overused throughout for various examples presented as ultimate truths, none of which are backed with research and solid evidence. some of it prosaicly simple boiling down to having confidence and perseverance - we'll, we all know those are good and help attain success. but not always money pe se. then there are just idiotic parts about thoughts going into the ether... don't waste time

very good book but...
I tend not to give one star, or not to judge but...
I've got 105 titles here on audible and listened about 100 including Dale Carnegie books ( how to win friends and how to stop worrying) and Brian Tracy who actually recommend this one . I could stand about 50 minutes of this Narration and sorry mr. Alan H. you may try to listen yourself...
Luckily there is few more Narrators to this great book and I do recommend to purchase one of them. This book is timeless ...

Oh Alan!
The content is dated but still worthy. I downloaded this because the book is in many top 10 books to inspire. But the main problem is the way in which it is read. For such inspirational material it is read in a rather unemotional, dry and dull way. I listened all the way through but a few weeks later I really can't remember most of it and I certainly won't be listening again. I think I may just buy the book!
