About this listen
The Zombie War was the longest and most costly conflict that Britain has ever waged. No one knows the true figure of those who lost their lives in the long years of the war and tragically too many have lost their lives in the years of peace that have followed. Life expectancy is a shadow of what it was and many diseases and ailments that science thought it had eradicated have returned. Many of those who survived the war have since died, taking with them the stories and memories of the most devastating and important struggle that mankind has ever waged. This book is the record of those stories, an attempt to remember the actions of those who lived through this devastating conflict. From the first stages of the outbreak, to the chaos of the mass panic and finally to the death of the last infected, it is a homage to those who saved our nation.

The Zombie War Battle for Britain
Aubrey Parsons over-acted this one I'm afraid, his narration was a little over the top for the story, The Zombie War Battle for Britain is a fantastic book and brings something new to the zombie genre 4 out of 5

Absorbing & Captivating..
A wonderfully constructed, dispassionate account of a crumbling society re-building itself whilst dealing with the trauma of an apocalyptic event.
In the vein of John Wyndham, the story is told from the view of a researcher examining the history, horrors, and aftermath of this catastrophic and momentous shift of reality...
The reader is drawn in as an independent observer of events, whilst key characters relate their experiences, memories, and the continuing effects in a new, dystopian reality.
The narrator, Aubrey Parsons, utilises his considerable vocal/ acting qualities, "becoming" the characters who explain their part in the collapse and rebuilding of society. He has the ability to convey each character in such a convincing manner, bringing them to life for the listener, that one feels drawn to the emotions as well as the tale.
In a nutshell, Mr Parsons' calm delivery as the researcher/ observer, combined with personification of the 'interviewees', makes for a plausible alternate reality.
Many analogies in relation to our present society can be drawn from this absorbing tale, questioning our own responses and adaptability to drastic change.
I'd highly recommend both the book and the narrator, but be warned - once you start listening, you will find it very hard to press the pause button!

A must listen !
Had a great time listening to this book, very reminiscent of World War Z. With stories from survivors delivered in an interview based fashion, ranging from the initial outbreak and reactions all the way to epic last stands and government indecision. The voice acting for this was very well delivered and really made each story have emotions on display. Great read and would highly recommend to anyone !

Very Very good work!
As someone else writes, a UK version of WW Z (not the Brad Pitt film but book). Tom is clearly an ex soldier and looks back on the zombie war in a fact-given way where he interviews survivors from an ex squaddie to a regional leader . Also whats nice, is even though he's ex military he's not like some who are always blabbing on about weapon this, a ZR7 blah blah with scopes blah blah which is common from American authors. Thoroughly good listening and very balanced. I also assume he does not have that high an opinion of politicians either so this one I totally support him on :-)
