Beautiful, funny and captivating :)
I absolutely adored this short novella about Izzy and Birchy - I only wish it was longer! Laura Jane Williams narrates it with such ease and emotion, switching between the two main characters’ accents flawlessly. It gave me all the feels :)

Hmm
Not up to the authors usual standard. I thought Sam was absolutely horrible - an entitled, arrogant, woe-is-me-all-women-are-awful-everything-is-someone-elses-fault kind of man. If this had been a full length novel then maybe there would have been time for a convincing character arc turnaround, but it seemed to me he spent the 95% of the story being awful and then we’re supposed to like him after a few moments of token niceness.
I’m not saying I didn’t like him purely because he was grumpy - if the whole story had been told purely from Izzy’s viewpoint and we’d never heard Sam’s internal thoughts, it could have been different. However, Sam’s aggrieved inner monologue of narcissism, rudeness and downright arrogance was pretty hard to come back from.
I feel like the audience was expected to love him the moment he put his hot suit on and we learned he’s a paediatrician. If I was Izzy I would have run a mile from this man.

over as soon as it got started
I take some blame for not looking at the running time for this but it was very short and didn't really have time to build into a story.
